Forgot the title of a movie.

I watched a movie a few years back, and I'd like to see it again but have no idea what it's called.
It's about Humans who go to another planet, and there they find weird creatures with long blades on their arms. The creatures are about 4 metres (about 13 feet) high. I also recall huge sand worms. It's all very vague. I didn't pay alot of attention in the first place. I was partially training my pure at Tzhaar City.
There's a scene where the humans get to their base, and want to take off in their ship. Unfortunately, the blade-like arm thing of one of the aliens pierces through the body of a (somewhat) important characters as they're taking off.
At the beginning-middle of the movie, before they've taken off to go to the planet, their soldiers are being trained. One of them is acidentally shot. How or why? I don't know.

Kudos to the one who can guess what movie this is.

EDIT: Also remember a scene where there's a cameraman, who also gets killed by the aliens. >.>.

It made me think of Lost Planet, that one game.

Nah, Pitch Black was a great movie but not the one I am looking for. =p
