Man rips out someones heart and tongue while taking drugs

When police arrived that day at a home at the mouth of the Klamath River, they found Wyatt naked and covered in blood. He told the officers, "I killed him," and said he had cut out Powell's heart and tongue, according to court documents.
The officers found Powell's body on the couch of the Requa home. His chest was cut open, and his heart, tongue and the skin of his face were gone, court records said. His heart was found charred in a wood-burning stove.

Shit's fuckin rowdy, but why are we only recently hearing about people doing things like this on drugs?

 

This is sad.

50 to life is way too much. We don't know about this mans previous criminal record, but if he was clean, this is really unfortunate.

He should be getting 20 with parole. It doesn't sound like he was a murderer, he was under the influence of some serious drugs.

Possession and use of illegal drugs and manslaughter would be more accurate. This guy is going to spend basically the rest of his life rotting in jail now; it makes me sad for some reason.

 

This happends alot. The drug is synthetic cocaine also known as bath salts. Google man eats mans face on bath salts. Lol

 

It makes you sad that someone abuses a substance and kills someone and you're upset about 50 to life being too much? he should get life without a chance of parole.

 

No he should just be killed so us tax payers don't need to waste all of our money keeping him alive. Once you're an adult we need to be responsible. If you're stupid and childish enough to take serious drugs and kill someone you don't deserve any better.

 

Bath salts are fairly new (2009 created and 2010 abused). Most people are still scared of taking them because of the obvious side effects (murdering people). The ones that do, well obviously, this kind of stuff.

 

Murdering people is not a side effect of bath salts. People who kill/harm other people while under the influence usually have some sort of underlying mental condition brought out by the use of the drugs. The fucking Miami zombie was only found to have trace amounts of marijuana in his system, you should be saying that homicide is a side effect of weed. The media sensationalized the shit out of that story to turn public opinion against drugs. This guy was found to be on magic mushrooms, and he probably took a huge amount. Don't blame the drugs for your problems, blame yourself

 

You spend more money going through with a death sentence than you do just locking them in a room and feeding them 3 times a day.


This is pretty insane honestly. Have you guys heard about those child murders in Detroit (I think) linked to bad PCP. A mother decapitated her own kid.

It causes mental instability in any person, and it only exaggerates the effects of mental illness. So someone fine mentally can go out an murder someone on that stuff. It's like depression medication, if it is the wrong stuff it can exaggerate the effects of depression and if take by a normal person can even drive them to suicide.

 

Wrong, it has nothing to do with the person taking them. Mushrooms, bath salts, it doesn't matter. The two, especially, have increased rates of reaction to agitation, hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia, all of which completely alter a sane state of mind forming no control over the person under the influence of them.

 

I swear, sometimes I have a problem even believing these people are human.

I'm really interested as to what was going on in his head, what he was seeing, in order for him to do this...

 

obviously neither of you read the OP or the article, it says they suspect he was under the influence of MUSHROOMS not bath salts, but this does reak of potential bathsalt abuse seeing as there have been a half dozen or similar instances of bathsalt abuse with cannibalistic tendencies. Someone in my hometown was abusing the stuff and bit a cop and drew blood.. theres something very strange about these bathsalts that seems to give people a taste for human flesh.... or atleast wayyyy more apt to bite people and freak the fuck out .

OT the guy (who killed the other) got what he deserved, if you cant handle your drugs and you willingly ingested them you are responsible for what you do on them. He should get life if not the death penalty for this BRUTAL murder and dismemberment, handle your shit or dont do it. He is the one who did the crime and he took his "friends" life in a horrible horrible way, any sympathy you have for this individual has simply left me at a loss. I suppose you think anyone on drugs at the time of a murder should be left off with a slap on the wrist ?

No one knows what drugs you can handle until you actually take them.

 

I wouldn't want to know, he'd be experiencing some fucked up things. Ultimately I think he deserves the long sentence though, it may not have been his decision to kill the man or whatever but ultimately it was his choice to take the drugs which impaired his decision making. He has to live with the consequences of his actions.

 

Well said, the drug use is unfortunate but the person is very much to blame and not entirely a victim.

The general consensus is that what he was on "mushrooms" is included with the rest of the hallucinates, i.e bath salts, which cause people to do illogical and immoral things such as this,

 

the person he killed doesn't get to rott in jail he gets to rott in a grave. I see this as fair it was the dumbass's fault for taking said drug if that was even the case in the first place.

I have seen many drugs in use from mary jane to coke and even on the most serious trips ect. you aren't like " hey lets go kill some guy rip out some organs and tear his face off.

I see this as him trying to probably get famous especially with all these zombie attackers and other dumbass's trying to get their fame or just nutting up.
