Thread icons

I think now it is stupid that everytime you want to set/change your thread icon, you need to contact a moderator.

I think every member (or at least donators), should have an ability to change their thread icons (I am not talking about post icons).

Well to do that you need to go through Thread Tools > edit thread and such to edit and apply the changes. So it's basically a mod ability, I'm not sure if it could be applied to donors and such.

 

I am also not sure, but it could be possible.

 

It would be a nice thing, but it doesn't seem like a necessity. That being said if it doesn't take to much work then support!

 

I support this, there have been times where I have wanted to have a simple icon change and had to go through the process of asking a moderator to do something that I should be able to do easily by myself.

 

I'm inclined to agree. It's hardly a moderator power, and it's not like it can be abused (like changing your own thread titles.) So I'll support, unless there's a reason why it's not set this way.

 

I'm not a 100% sure on this, and I'm not really into the technical aspect of VBulletin, but I think being able to change thread icons is a power in the moderator usergroup, wouldn't Matthew need to change permissions and all that stuff? I don't know, but if this can be implemented easily, I would be in support.

 

While I agree that users should be able to change thread icons themselves, I don't think it's very important. It can easily wait until VB4.

 

If it's just granting the regular users + donators usergroups the one permission to change the thread icon it should be fine and can be set easily I believe. The only issue would be if granting the right to change thread icons comes with other permissions like editing thread titles too, etc.

 

I had no idea about this but I support it since I believe it is something that must be addressed.

I'm not a big user of thread icons, though I can see how this is beneficial for others, support.

 

I'm almost sure this would be the case, and I know the Admins really don't like or are able to change permissions/usergroups around for fairly trivial things such as this.

If it's as simple as changing one little thing for the two usergroups (Regular Users + Donors) it surely wouldn't be such a problem?

 

This is a suggestion that can be done, and if changing titles was also added it would be amazing.

I know it won't happen, but at least the ability to change the icon would be cool.

 

So it can definitely be added with the click of a button? I.E. Just give the privileges to the usergroup and all done? No chance of abuse?

And I wish we could change the titles too, but I can somewhat see how it can be abused.

Support for this. I'm in a rush to make a thread and icons do stand out, but it is a pain to contact a moderator. Donors should have this ability.
