    Paypal Disputes

    Hi,
I'm looking for information on paypal disputes. I had a dispute for 25$ over a person who failed to give me the rsgp. So i called paypal and filed a dispute claiming that i did not receive the "product" as directed and promised. So 10 days later still had a pending dispute, so i called again and asked what the dilemma was and they said it will be closed because the "seller" said it was a virtual trade and paypal does not support virtual trades. I retaliated and said that it was an item upgrade for a gaming system. They said again they don't support gaming sales.

So long story short i lost 25$ then come to find out, someone that i sold gold to over 2 weeks ago filed a dispute and just a couple days ago won the case for $19.78. I provided the information that it was a virtual trade "runescape" ( And i DID GIVE HIM THE GOLD FIRST ) and paypal simply said that i did not provide enough information to win the case?!

How are people paying via paypal and still winning the case, and then honest buyers and sellers are getting ripped off. What is being done or said to paypal to win the cases?? Can anyone help me with some information because i see chargebacks all the time on here with the "scammer buyer" winning the case and getting both the gold and his money back. Thanks :)

Honestly, as soon as you mention the word 'Virtual' to PayPal they will close the case - they won't support it under any circumstances really. Sometimes you do get lucky with PayPal and a dispute goes your way but officially you won't get any support. It's an unfortunate reality with PayPal.

You may need to look into some alternative methods to send/receive funds like Western Union, Moneypak, Moneybookers, etc.

    Two notes on this:

People win the case by having the buyer declare that it's a virtual item in the notes section.
If a seller has too many disputes, Paypal won't let them keep winning- they'll simply close the account.

There's no way that you would lose the first dispute where you bought virtual items, you'll get your money back from that one.

I'm in the process of losing a dispute over $30 and I am the buyer.
Paypal told me they don't refund or offer buyer protection for people buying virtual goods.

People are pitiful, we have to accept the pathetic reality that there are people without any sense of morals who are completely fine with stealing.
Take this as a lesson, like I did, and don't do anymore trades through paypal.

That's why I suggest you use request money on paypal because as far as I know you can not charge back with that even when its a virtual item. As I said im not a 100% sure but whenever someone tried to charge back against me I always won because it was a request money and when the payment is sent through that means I can delivered the item.
