Please all of this is just a basic form...I didn't want to put to much into it if it was going to be shotdown.

Decided to take my shot at advertising...

The most important thing I would be doing is advertising on bigger forums, keep those advertisements and threads up to date, and keep finding more places to go.

Without that step the rest of this is useless. update: Found some sites to start on working on a post that shines

So here is the youtube part

For this youtube I would be getting clips from different gaming trips members of Sythe take. Delta has volunteered some videos already that I can start working on and clipping together from many types of games.

Note everytime a new game haxball, rotmg, gw2, tf2, etc comes out alot of us sythers join in and play together and the new clips won't be ending this will attract people who play those games to Sythe

Next we already have a facebook, but it is inactive and uninviting. Why not have a facebook that keeps up with whats going on with sythe including updates, popular banned members, hacked warnings, and game play updates.

Well we already have a place where members can put random memes, but I thought why not have it all in one place. We can have a tumblr comprised of the members of sythes favorite memes, qoutes, and other things

And last and definitely least Ijava was selling this domain for cheap so I bought and and was going to play with it until I decided to do all this stuff so this site is just a basic info page of sythe

OH I forgot I was wondering can we have a get together type of section where scheduled times for games are said...Could attract more people, be fun, not to much work to do it, and another thing to add on twitter and fb

Like saying we are having gw2 night at this time were alot of gw2 people play together

I thank god there are people who think like this :3. after thinking about the numbers I was curious how many people would actually come and out of them who would stay. I've looked up ten sites so far that are the same size or bigger than sythe to advertise on, but how many would actually come and stay?

the youtube idea isn't bad because if it actually grows then it will get a few people coming in fairly steadily I would think...but maybe all of us talking about advertising are thinking in the wrong way.

I mean its like who are we trying to attract, what theme or type of website are we trying to advertise and be, How can we actually get them to come, and Where to place the ads? How much money and work would have to go into it?

Why I feel if we can get youtube launched it would help some, maybe we should start thinking in a bigger picture.

Also for anyone that was wondering I personally don't believe facebook, twitter, tumblr, or sythe.info will help us grow much alone anyway.

Just in my personal opinion I think we should focus on figuring out the questions, but also possibly see what we are as a site? the current moto kind of makes it feel like a cold site from the start. We know its more as alot of us as shown from the newer thread Sythe more than another forum.

Also just adding that I think twitter and facebook could help if we had regular gaming get togethers and fun events of the sort. Obvious fun=more active people and tumblr could be put in that as a group meme, quote type of things that is just for fun.

We need to answer the questions in the 3rd paragraph to really grow, but all these small things help too. (was trying to say more but just got off of a 16 hour shift :x)


Wanted to add events and stuff would not be mandatory to anyone! just whoever wants to come

What exactly are you suggesting though?
If you're doing it yourself - great idea. If you need help - I'll do some work when I have time.

 

I'm suggesting we actually implement these things and why aren't you on irc! and if they want to I might need help lets see how it actually goes lol.

Btw just saying I think the first is the most important registering for other bigger forum make a long thought out advertising post why people should come to sythe and then talking to people there and gaining interest

Great job on these, hopefully they will bring in more users. I'm not so sure about the markets for gaming on the social network scene. I know i wouldn't want "Piramid liked sythe.org" to show up on my facebook page haha

 

tbh me niether Piramid, but the old sythe fb has over 50 likes lol. That being said if anyone thinks the text in the yt video doesn't fit make a suggestion

Not sure why you've bothered in all honesty. Social media communities have to be established and managed in very specific ways. As someone that works with social media strategics for a living, I really see no reason for Sythe to have any social media connection (yet) and definitely no reason for it to be a user-managed area.

as someone who came here for runescape goods, and then doesn't use runescape, if it wasn't for a few people i wouldn't be here anymore, this site doesn't really engage people with other needs are far as discusasion mostly because that user base isn't here, i sadly had to go to a different forum just to fulfill my needs on topics. *gaming topics*

 

I completely agree. Don't stop because you got an opinion that said you should (no offense to Verts, she is entitled to her opinion). It's good that you're taking your time and energy to do something for Sythe, so definitely keep it up.

I think Sythe already has a facebook page, and there has been more than one. I don't see the need for a tumblr/youtbe, but that's just me. Twitter + Facebook would be the only ones worth doing, and something like this really should be admin ran.. There's too many privacy and security measures that could be broken if this was ran by a user(s).

 

If it's something you think you'd enjoy then do it. Verts and Punker are clearly just jealous they didn't act on this before you. If she didn't say no, then go right ahead and have some fun.

I feel like punker didn't read the thread though. Tumblr isn't for attracting people its just a little fun thingy for the site to do. Idk if this is true, but it seems like none of the fb pages was actually kept up with. I do think it would be nice for it to be staff run, but what staff has time?

 

There's no reason to bring forum activity to another place, especially if it serves no ultimate purpose other than having some where to put it all. We want to keep Sythe's activity on Sythe, unless it involves bringing in more activity to Sythe.

I don't understand your logic about putting the meme's and w/e else in tumblr. There was already a thread dedicated to Sythe's best meme's and I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make a thread dedicated to what you're suggesting be placed on tumblr.

As for the facebook page.. It didn't work the first time around, it's not going to work this time. It needs to be staff/admin ran for reason I said just a moment ago.

As for Sythe.info, isn't that like the exact same thing as what Suf has been doing? There's absolutely no need for a website like Sythe.info.. It'd be ultimately easier and better to compile a section dedicated to guides for on Sythe, in Sythe.

As for the youtube, I'm kind of vague about what you're trying to do here.. We aren't possibly going to reach anybody while on YouTube. Since we aren't going to be able to reach anybody, it's just going to make us look weak. You need a good backbone for things like this, and youtube surely isn't the place to launch something Sythe related..

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a Sythe Facebook/Twitter Page, but I don't want to see it User Ran. We should simply bring back the old Facebook Page and try to re-invent it. If not, an admin should make a new one. Like Verts already said, sites like these need to be ran properly.. I think that the admin team would be more efficient in launching a Facebook/Twitter page that they kept ran by them opposed to a user ran one.

I hope this post doesn't come off as slander, because it's not.. I would like to see some of this put into action, I just want to see it done properly.

 

referring to punkers post, i think the main reason he wants to start is, it's fairly obviously. it's been stated that it needs to be ran by the admins etc.

when we all know, quite frankly 1.) they wont do it 2.) they just don't want to do it 3.) they don't have time to do it.

For the youtube part how would we not reach people once we began promoting different game adventures played by people on sythe it would represent us as a gaming community that would attract other gamers.

Idk if it was in original post, but I personally think sythe.info is pretty useless I just got the domain cheap off of someone here so put it in there.

It's not slander and I am glad you are posting. It helps straighten ideas out when challenged(i know i still need to straighten everything out with the thread to make it more understandable, but running very low on sleep and don't want to mess it up anymore than it is)


Guess this thread makes it seem like I have to be in control of everything...all of this is made under new emails, passwords, etc... that can be givin to staff to control and change as they would like
