I just hate how if anyone says they're against gay marriage all these gay rights people get up in arms, and have some horrible life/career decisions put against those who oppose them just because they don't support gay marriage.

People are being taken to court and losing their jobs over stating what they believe (traditional marriage). You people claim that everyone deserves the right to believe what they want about marriage, yet it's a one-way argument.

That is 100% different. Wife beating actually harms someone and affects people, but two people who love eachother getting married should not affect you in any way shape or form

 

Marriage's are kind of pointless here in NZ. The law pretty much binds anyone and their possesions after a 3 year relationship. I don't even see the value in getting married to someone, skip the wedding, get a name change and throw a huge party to save yourself a shit ton of cash and be just as happy.


More on topic though, it's unfair whats happening to the people who disagree with same sex marriage's, but in the first example of Chick-Fil-A it's more the medias fault blowing everything out of context like they always do, its a shame what did happen to the business.

Haha, I only read to the end of the first paragragh when I posted that, but went ahead and edited it after I read more, I was in the mist of editing when quoted.

 

I believe Sanctuary hit the nail on the head. This isn't about marriage this is about same sex groups flexing their muscle. Stating that someone believes that marriage should be for the traditional family unit is a TOTALLY acceptable and not a derogatory statement.

Marriage is a religious ceremony. Whatever religion OWNS the rights to that ceremony, no matter what kind of wack job shit they believe as bigoted or racist ECT. It is in no way the rights of the gay/lesbian community to come and try to FORCE themselves into it, these types of lobby groups are essentially the gay mafia and I wouldn't be surprised if they were directly involved in the vandalism of the locations and the political pressure to ban them.

I feel that all LGBT organizations are a cancer to society as the only further promote hatred and bigotry against the group they represent due to their extreme beliefs that they should be shoehorned into society, and that anyone who doesn't accept their views is a bigot when it could be farther from the truth. The real truth is that any LGBT organization or any organization that promotes the rights of a section of the population is a bigoted organization at heart that believes that whatever people they represent are better than all others. The truth is that I as a man am an equal person to any other adult regardless of my age/gender/ethnicity/religion/sexual orientation.

 

I think that gay people should definitely have the right to be together, but also that anyone can think whatever the hell they want about it.. it's freedom of speech whether I agree with it or not.
