what should i do with my money?

heres the story:
years ago, in my elementary school we had a class on business(i know, strange), and we had a project on the stock market. we could choose any stocks we wanted, and pretend buy them, and the person who made the most money won it. i chose apple, and won it haha. but my dad, who is a mortgage banker, decided it would be a good idea to actually buy some stock for me, and see how it panned out. anyways, i chose disney, because i was like in the 3rd grade and i liked disney at the time haha. well, he forgot about it, and now, like 7 years later, the disney stock he bought has turned into about 2000$ worth of stock. i wanna invest in something i can get some stable returns on, like relatively low risk stuff. anyone have any good ideas? i know the precious metal stuff is big right now. idk about currency...anyway, anyone got any good ideas?

 

well really there are a lot of stocks , but in stock you must take risks to get something in return , like my teacher bought stock for pizza hut when it wasnt going so great but as you see today pizza hut is big and earns a lot of money and so my teacher got about for his stock 15 million dollars and he bought the stock for about 15k

Put it in a high interest savings account and just let it sit, $2000 will help you loads in life when your older.

 

There is no such thing. The highest rate is going to be less than 1%, and most of those accounts must maintain a $25-50k balance.

 

I agree, letting money sit in a savings account is a waste, there's a LOT of better options for low risk investment with a greater return that doesn't take a lot of time / attention to manage.

May not be your best option, but you could look at premium bonds. Today's interest rates are ultimate shit, and least with premium bonds depending on your luck you have chances to win £25-£1,000,000 every month. According to their website every £1 bond is a 1 in 24,000 chance of winning.

I currently have £1,000 in bonds, so do the math the odds aren't bad.

Premium bonds are basically a 0% interest saving account but instead your bonds are entered into monthly prize draws, like a lottery, and its backed by the treasury so your money is 100% safe.

I think those odds are wrong, I have £30,000 of bonds and I don't win every money, I've only actually ever won 4 times.

Personally, I would invest the money in an REIT. Real estate is due for a rebound imo, and you will net a decent profit from it.

 

Ask some local financial planning agency to know the local plans running in your respective country.

I was going to say this. Silver and gold are good investments right now since, generally speaking, they have been rising consistently for a good while.

 

^ Silver is an amazing investment since high end products are turning to silver to use for batteries and whatnot.

Both silver and gold are a good investment, but silver is where its at.(though I would check out and see if its being inflated or not)
