    Punkerpunk13 Onto A New Journey..

Figured I'd go ahead and make a thread on this. I'm not entirely sure about how this works, but I'm going to go ahead and outline what I know.

Things to note about the update

    1. You have 5 security questions (I guess similar to recovery questions).

    2. The security questions are permanent and you can't remove them.

    3. You register devices onto the accounts, similar to "trusted pc's". If you attempt to access the acocunt while on a PC that isn't on the authorized list, you have to confirm it via e-mail.

    Questions I have..

    1. Can the security questions/trusted PC's be removed at all?

    2. Do all of the security questions need to be answered at once?

    3. How do they recognize the trusted pc's? I know it's not IP.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to input. I know that not a lot of people on here will be able to answer these questions, since it's a new update.

For question 3 they probably use a java file that they store in your runescape folder. Most companies use it to ban a device from accessing their site if they have charged back, been perm banned, or registered too many accounts. A lot of chinese games use it but it seems to be getting big in MMOs as well now. It would be cool to find the file but normally its well hidden and you probably won't even notice it.

    1) No. The devices can, for if you're on holiday for example. Questions, no. Manual recovers - will have to wait for someone to try
    2) Yes
    3) MAC address, I'm 100% convinced.

I'm curious if manual recovers (by emailing jagex) will remove it.

    Question 1: Idk
    Question 2: Yes, I confirm.
Question 3: Probably MAC address (not sure at all tho)

And you should add this in your third note (small thing but important):
"If you attempt to access the account while on a PC that isn't on the authorized list, you have to confirm it via e-mail and security questions."

I'm also curious if we can remove these questions :s
