Does beer go bad?

I've had a Miller High Life 40 Oz just chillin in my closet for close to 6 months now, maybe slightly less/slightly longer. I know light/heat degrades beer, so I've been keeping it in a pitch black container in my closet ever since I acquired it (it stays pretty cool in there, 68-70 degrees F). It's not opened of course.

I looked all over the bottle, and can't seem to find an expiration date (if there even is one), so my question is does beer go bad under these circumstances? I understand it probably won't taste quite right, but will it get me sick or anything like that?

Also if anyone has any information to back up their claims I'd love to read about it since I don't feel like getting trolled into drinking something that will get me sick/kill me.

Just cracked it, it's warm and yet still tastes pretty good. Gonna take .5mg of klonopin here soon too, not getting too crazy though I will update with how it goes. Doubt I'll finish the 40.

edit: lol at first I said .5g of kpin, not trying to die haha edited to the correct dose.

 

beer goes bad if you change the temperature frequently - i.e take it out of the fridge, let it go warm, then put it back. Still drinkable, might just taste like an old sock

 

Also opening it and not finishing the bottle, going back to zero it out.

 

Well, it came from the store (cold) and has been in the closet at room temperature ever since. It tastes fine. I'm halfway through it now and I feel fine. If anything I'm a little disappointed that I don't feel the slightest buzz other than from the Klonopin, but whatever. This could stem from the fact that don't particularly like the taste of beer to begin with, so I'm just kind of sipping it. That and I've never done a benzo/alcohol mix so I'm testing the waters, so to speak.

 

One cooldown probably won't affect the taste very much.

 

Your beer bottle was in a closed system.
Nothing got in, nothing got out and it was at room temperature, with no reason to doubt a constant pressure.

I'm not entirely sure about the contents of your beer and what the gas (or the air) inside the bottle was made up, but I'm sure that there's not much in it to cause a chemical reaction that would destroy the beer.

Yeah. But temperature changes will make it go flat. I have a whole fridge full of flat beer.

 

worked in a pub for 4 years if the temperature of the beer keeps increasing and decreasing it will affect everything about it,best bet would have been to leave it in a cold place especially after leaving it for 6 months.

90 days for any light beer is the recommended drink time. It will still be alright but it won't taste right.

 

Your beer will probably taste a little off but it won't hurt you or anything.

as for your question beer doesn't go bad as long as it is still factory sealed.

Bumping to update that the beer did in fact taste like shit, but I felt no negative side effects. Also to this guy, you're a horrible troll. The 40s were left from a party and I never finished them. Felt like getting fucked up one night, so I made due with what I had haha. Haters gonna hate.
