Barraging Rock Lobsters.

I was thinking about barraging 94-99 Magic at Rock Lobsters.
Can anyone give me recommended gear/etc on what to bring and if I should get 99 this way over other ways(I need 99 Summoning as well).

90 Defence
94 Magic
95 Prayer
85 Summoning

farseer shield, chaotic staff. Best mage armour you can buy.

Also bring pray armour from when you do the lure.

 

Scratch the chaotic staff out and use a polypore instead. Chaotics degrade very quick when your being attacked multiple times especially by 9+.

 

Farseer helmet
Fury/Stream(Stream only effects the first lobster you attack but gives +14 magic offense)
Ahrims/Mystic top/bottom(Combat robes if you want to save lots of money)
Infinity boots
Barrows/Infinity gloves
Tome of Frost(will save water runes)/Mages book/Zammy book(full)
Staff- I would use a Staff of Light, as it saves 10% of your runes.

I wouldn't recommend bringing chaotics, they do degrade very fast, and could get very costly.
I would bring Prosolyte Armor, top and bottom to wear while you're luring.

You should sell your Barrages and buy Bursts, it's 40k Mage exp an hour difference, at almost twice the cost.
For the Defense, if you wanted to use Defensive casting, you could train defense while you're getting the rest of the charms you need for Summoning, or you could do Slayer to level that separately.
One more thing, don't forget your Ring of Life, no matter how much you think you have it down.

 

I think you should just do what I did.

I used a Waterfiend bot to train my defense while obtaining charms. It's around 70-80 charms per hour with your stats, not too shabby really. Around 40k defense experience which is kinda bad but could be worse, you could be doing it manually eh?

It'll save you money, well you'll break even from the water orbs the bot collects.

 

Bursting/barrages rock lobsters is fast magic and charms, but there's alternative methods to gaining magic xp and charms. Like my personal favorite, slayer. The difference between 94-99 magic is a couple spells. I'd recommend getting your magic and charms through slayer. It'll take much longer, but in the long run your appreciate that you did it via slayer and you'll save a lot of time.

 

I don't want to be getting 99 magic after EoC is released.

70-80 crimsons? Because I was getting 105 total charms after like 2 hours, but if you're talking about crimsons that seems right.
