So what did i miss...?

decided to log onto rs a few days ago after not playing since the last bot nuke(that i am aware of) at the beginning of this year/end of last year (i forget when it exactly happened). trying to go through the logs on the rs site did nothing for me.

the few things i heard about were:
-gold duping problem (that why gp is so cheap now?)
-new combat system
-bot nuke coming soon

someone mind explaining those and anything else important?

"When the Crucible Money Making Glitch referenced earlier, above, was fixed, a glitch with the bank PIN on the money pouch let players quickly enter the Crucible Arena, paying their fee, and exited, went to the bank to refill their money pouch to maximum capacity, and got their fee back. What resulted was two stacks of their fee repaid dropping to the floor, duplicating what they were to normally be paid out only once. This could be done repeatedly. This glitch also was able to be performed in the duel arena using a similar method and was patched on the same day. This made gold extremely cheap being as low as 0.10/m which is incredible. However many of the accounts were banned/rolled back and a lot of the gold was removed and accounts were cleaned by Jagex. Many people managed to get the duped gold though which explains the low prices of gold recently. Gold prices still aren't stable. Also rares weren't affected by this as Jagex didn't wipe those instead they managed to input them back into the game with a 'clever system' they described... no-one knows what it was though.

with that new combat system i might not even bother having my pure trained since they wont be as good right?

 

Well, there's a lot of speculation at the moment regarding the EoC (evolution of combat). Nobody can really be sure on what accounts will be good, and what will be bad until the update has finally been released. The problem is, a lot of people are bad mouthing the EoC when it's not even out of BETA yet. The update is suspected to be released in September, which is this month. I heard it was supposed to be late September so we'll see...

If I were you I'd wait until the final update comes out so you can see for yourself whether your account will be good or bad. I heard the EoC heavily depends on defence, and the sort of armour you wear. But again, nobody can be sure what it entails as EoC is in constant development and will be changed a lot from the BETA

Your best bet would be to wait until EoC comes out as I've already said. But if you can't wait until then I'd get speaking to people who have been playing the EoC BETA to see their opinions on which account types will be best, and which ones won't.

Jagex have been threating a bot nuke for a few months now, we don't know exactly who or what it's gonna target if anything comes of it at all, but a recent post on their website mentioned auto spamming bots and a new bot detection system, or something like that I've heard, it's just a guessing game for now, we have to wait and see, really.

 

Jagex says there is going to be a bot nuke every week, it doesn't happen. Also, the only bots they ban are gold farmers. So you're safe if you do bot.

 

Yeah, billions of RSGP we released into the economy through another Crucible glitch and it stayed in the game (No rollbacks.) So the prices here (with general Supply and Demand rules) dropped. I think everyone is hoping it rises after the bot nuke.
