It would be niave to think that they will only introduce this 'show' with nothing behind it. Yes the show is stupid, but if they really do have something server sided, well kudos to them.
Then again, bots update, so it's just an on going cat and mouse game in the end.

 

Which they previously pursued fervently, only the past year and a half have they stopped banning. Perhaps now they'll start up again?

 

I think they'll have a lot of fun there at first, then they'll realise how pointless, boring and repetitive it is and leave.

If I were Jagex, I would bring back the Black Hole.
That could be hilarious!

Imagine that you are being x-ferred to a closed room, like an arena, and all the legit players are watching. You will see a door with a sign on it saying Freedom. Obviously you run there and then you enter the Black Hole room. You cant see shit but yourself, and u will see a bright light coming from the edge of the room with a sign on it saying: Exit.
You run to there and then you will automaticly logout, the exit door is exit from the game.

This update is a bit silly, but acceptable. For the majority of legit players, bots really do ruin a lot of things. Market prices, monster spawns, etc. It might be a good way to allow the legit players to get their anger out on the bots by throwing... tomatoes at them?

 

Thats actually a cool idea, I'd vote for that. We all know trial bots are created for the sole purpose of trying to make as much money as possible in their 2 week membership, and thats it.

Be funny and cool if they got caught the jury so to speak would get parts of the bank for participating in the whole trial event, would at least make it worth people's while to attend anyway.

But you would get a lot of noobs who will just camp there all day everyday hoping to get something good, would have to be a limit on how many trials you can attend daily to avoid this.

 

Oh psshh, I'm not scared. Jacmob doesn't do shit at Jagex. He only comes into the office on Fridays and does the rest of his 'work' from home using a special laptop that allows him to access his J Mod account. Everyone in his department already has a college degree in everything that Jacmob knows. They view him as pretty much a kid, because after all, he is compared to the rest of them. Also, that team has been working on these updates loooong before he was even hired. Simply put, it's smarter of jagex to hire him so he cannot legally make bots, than allow him to restart one of the largest botting sites ever. You want to kill the largest threat? Get him on your team so he can't hurt you.

maybe a small update that makes bots malfunction or not work. But will probs be fixed in like 1-4 weeks. My opinion.

The whole point of banning the botter is to stop the illegitimate money they earned from inflating the economy. Giving their bank away will actually gigantically increase the inflation rate that is currently in the game.

 

I did not think about that, but that is a very good point. This would mean it's a very efficient (depending on how rich and how many bots they ban) way of removing a bunch of wealth from the game, thus improving the economy.
