The Average Person Swallows 8 Spiders a Year

I don't believe this, but apparently its true! Thoughts on this??

 

That's an average. That doesn't mean you do. It happens in people's sleep and I'd assume the frequency of spider swallowing is dependent on where the person sleeps.

 

I'd say this is true, I've heard this many times. And yes it must be in your sleep. I think it depends where you live.

Unless this gets proved with facts, statistics and evidence, I'm gonna just say its just an urban myth...

I don't see any logic behind a spider crawling into your mouth, they must be shit scared of us and would have no reason to go anyway near us, let alone climb into our mouths!

I'll just comment on all the stupidity at once..

IT'S AN AVERAGE. Some people swallow more than 8, some people swallow none at all. It depends on where you live, where you sleep, time of year, everything that can be a factor, is a factor. That's why it's called an average. They can also be on fruit and vegetables as someone above said. Shit, people who sleep outside probably eat spiders and bugs almost every night. That's also factored in.

I think a lot of people do not want to believe they actually eat spiders.. It happens.

 

Aite, change my mind. All you guys who believe people eat spiders are retarded. Spiders CANNOT and WILL NOT just crawl into your mouth and tingle their way down your esophagus.

No, once something is in your mouth, you automatically swallow it in your sleep.

I used to put things in other people's mouths while they slept in the same tent as me back in boyscouts. If it tickles their mouth enough, they will swallow it.

 

I've chewed gum before, gone to sleep with it in my mouth, and woke up with it still being in my mouth...

 

yeah me too. last time I checked it didn't tickle you either.
