    Gaming Build

    Hey,
I want to update my 200$ PC to a good gaming one.
I don't really care about the price.
    2K USD?
Shoot me a build that costs about 2K-3K$

Also I'd like to know, what's the difference between the 3930K and the 3960X.
    Thanks in advance ;)

For strictly gaming anything over a 3570k is not needed, and will give no perform any boost in games. Is this budget in usd? And does that include peripherals and monitor?

First of all, what are you specs at the moment? I'd also like to know whether or not this is a shop bought media PC or not.

    Monitor, I already have one.
And my current build is nothing more than a G43/45 + Pentium E6600 or something..
And ya, 2k in USD or 3k

For gaming you should definately go with an i5 3570k as Justin mentioned

    i5 3570k 230$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

Since you want to spend around 2000$ I would buy two gtx 670s. Great performance.
    GTX 670 x2 = 800$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423

    P77 motherboard = 120$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130646

    16 gb 1600 ram = 90$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145347

Case for ~100$ like this one
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811517006

All that together costs around 1350$ together. Adding the last stuff that you are missing you will have a beast of a computer for around 1500$. IMO it's not worth spending money on better graphic cards. But you could spend more on those or go with an i7. Oh yeah, you should definately go with a 256gb or higher SSD aswell which is around 200$.

I agree with getting a SSD, improves your Performance substantially and fasts up the speed of it starting up if the system is on the SSD, also does not make any loud noise.

a hyperx 3k, or a corsair force gt will be good enough for your cause, they are both really cheap for a ssd.

Still on my phone so can't help very much, but do not go with the motherboard runescapejj mentioned. It is a P77 chip set from what he said, and they do not support over locking. So an unlocked K series CPU and a P77 don't go together. You want a Z77 chip set motherboard.

I just got on my computer, so I can finally be of more assistance. I do however, have to do some homework first. I can help you, but someone may post before I get a chance.

But, to answer your question on the 3570k vs the i7 for gaming, take a look at this article-

    Link

Notice how anything above a 3570k is a waste of money, and will bring you no noticeable gains?

    Seems interesting.
What does the processor effect? Web browsing? Running more bots? What can it help with?
    Thanks

EDIT: I still need some more posts like RunescapeJJ's

Like I said I will give you a good build shortly, when I get a second. Usually I am much quicker on these things, but I am swamped lately! Sorry!

Anywho, the processor affects the speed in which things run. Most programs now use 1-4 cores, with very few using more than that. The speed of the CPU is measured in GHz. Most come in stock at around 3.2GHz. With a K series CPU like the 3570k the multiplier is unlocked, allowing for you to overclock your CPU, or make it run faster than it is set to from the factory. With the 3570k you can go from the stock 3.4GHz to atleast 4.5GHz easily.

Now, with modern games however, more strain is put on the GPU than the CPU, making it slightly more important for gaming than the CPU.

The 3570k is a stout processor capable of running any game you need, which is why anything over that is overkill. To give a simplified example, lets say someone needs 10 pounds of food a month to live. The 3570k gives you 12 pounds a month, but the 3930k gives you 20 pounds per month. Why go with the 3930k and spend alot more if the 3570k suits your needs.

If you will be getting into video editing or the likes, then I do recommend an i7 processor, because they use hyper threading which gives them an edge over the i5's in highly CPU intensive programs.

For botting, bots highly rely on RAM + CPU and not so much CPU. You'd do fine with Intel HD 4000.

you can get a decent computer for around $1000. 2k-3k is overkill imo
