I must admit it's kinda hilarious that the legit players will determine the fate of the bots, Jagex will always be Jagex - bunch of fools.

Though I have to admit I am curious how the hell Jagex gonna detect bots using a system, server-sided software perhaps?

Well... I think this update meant to put "fear" in those who bot, and might make them to stop botting.

Your thoughts about this shit?

 

LMAO, this is funny as hell, stupid update.

After a cheating, rule-breaking, botting account has been caught in the act, they will be teleported to Botany Bay: a new location, hidden on a dark, foreboding island and run by the Botfinder General. Here, real players will be invited to listen to a fully voiced speech from the General, while pelting the offender with rotten tomatoes. You'll then be invited to choose one of three game-ending punishments for the offender, resulting in a brutal set of animations and a permanent ban. You’ll be able to hear about ongoing trials via the announcers that sit near several busy in-game locations. They will also offer a handy teleport to anyone nearby.

 

Do legitimate players get to decide whether they're just banned/muted/unbanned or do they just decide how they're going to be banned?(A fancy animation or something)?

 

I believe if they only decide what animation plays before the bot gets banned

 

Yeah, they'll get to choose one of three 'game ending punishments' for any bots that get caught and are sent there. Apparently supposed to consist of some 'brutal' set of animations.

This should be hilarious, can't wait to attend some of the executions and see how they meet their ends. XD

One of the few appealing updates happening as of late.

 

This is just great. Instead of trying to get rid of us, they're just going ban the gold farmers and add a animation show for the legit players.

Did you guys notice the way Jagex spoke at that part? It sounded like they are addressing small children, makes me to think that the avg age of runescape's population decreased drasticly.

 

It sounds pretty stupid honestly, and is really only appeasement for the legit players. They're trying to show that they're actually 'doing something' about the bots.

I think it's a good idea. Botany bay does sound cooler than just being forced logged out and seeing that you've been banned.

 

Going to be dead content because they 1 don't ban bots, 2 are doing it just before a bot nuke?

 

Maybe it is the "Bot nuke" if it is i'll be laughing so hard.

 

I'm not even joking, I read that this morning when I was reading the September update previews, and I fucking spat coffee all over my desk because I found it so funny and so unexpected! :laugh:

I have to admit that it is pretty fucking hilarious, and the general RS community is pretty damn riled up as they all hate botters and can't wait to get a piece of the action by humiliating them and deciding their fate. The whole concept is extremely stupid when you think about it though, but leave it to Jagex to come up with something like that

I've seen a lot of noobs posting on the RSOF asking Jagex if when the bots are banned during their trial, if their banks can be giving away to the people attending the trial bahahaha! :laugh:

Lol I bet this is the 'bot nuke'. Jagex can't ban their own community. I bet if you buy spins they won't ever ban you.

 

I bet Jagex will be creating 'fake' players to go to Botany Bay. That will make legit players think Jagex is actually doing a good job at banning botters.

Must be quite humiliating when when you're babysitting your bot and then you're at botany bay, with about 50 people deciding your fate and laughing at you.
This is going to be great.
