    I've bought 3 accounts, and they've all been lost/recovered somehow, I don't know why. The most recent account I bought was linked to my e-mail and Jagex says it's the wrong e-mail so I can't recover it. $150+ wasted. gg

    Did you use paypal as your payment method? If you did, you could try to charge back but there's no guarantees.

    File a scam report against your scammer. Was he trusted? Account sales are always extremely risky, and you should only buy from very trusted users since they can pretty much always be recovered.

    You might want to make sure with the Sythe Staff that this is okay first.

    I'm really sorry that this happened to you - but unfortunately accounts get recovered a large majority of the time unless you've bought them from someone really trusted. They can almost always be recovered.

    Try refraining from buying accounts from members who aren't super trusted.

    This also happened to me once before which is the reason I no longer buy an account except to my fellow friends only. Sad to say that if you cannot charge-back then its your loss but I'm pretty sure that the next time around, you are more knowledgeable when buying an account.

    This really should go somewhere in a sticky:

    Even with the registered email set, the original owner can still easily recover. He either sends an email to jagex and waits for 2 weeks or so.

    Or he goes to the "account help" section on the runescape forums, posts in the "hacker set registered email" thread and he'll have the account back in a few hours.

    Try to gather evidence for a scam report, and try to contact whoever sold it to you. If you're certain he did recover it, then charge back the money.

    they have 14 days by email to recover it back and sayu it was a mista/ some 1 hacked you email sorry to hear you got scamed dude if you ever pay high for a account get a omm to hold for 14 days

    Issues like this are why I never buy accounts.. I always just feel like I'm looking over my shoulder anxiously awaiting the day I try to log on and cannot.

    They have until the end of the world to recover it back.

    @Brendan, true, but that thread doesn't really give details. Maybe that's for the best though, it might just encourage people to recover the accounts they sold.

    Yeah I know it doesn't, and people do need to be warned more, but I don't really know what can be done. And if everyone thinks it's common fact that it's likely your account will be recovered, then yeah people are more likely to get the idea. Tricky situation :/
