The vote to end all debates - Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?

One of the most popularly debated questions in football today! I'd like to see who Sythe feels is the best player

 

There's something we need to understand - there are good players, and there are stars. Lionel Messi is a good player. Cristiano Ronaldo is a star.

So, I voted for Cristiano Ronaldo.

 

Ronaldo in my opinion.

Better in the air, better at free kicks, stronger, better skills (messi uses his tiny ass frame to get past players) etc. etc.

Only attribute Messi has which Ronaldo doesn't is team play. Messi is in a better team.

 

For me Lionel Messi, I think he is a better player although recently a few hitches I still prefer him. I feel that Ronaldo is a "show-off", this greatly annoys me. I feel that Lionel Messi does it because he enjoys the sport.

I personally think Messi is a better finisher, and goal scorer. But Ronaldo's got the skills!

Hard choice, but my vote goes to Mr Lionel Messi.

 

They do have completely different techniques. Ronaldo is better in the air and has some better tricks and skills. Dunno if I can say he has better free kicks though after Messi's beauty last night. Wow.

 

Personally, I think Ronaldo is more versatile on the field and can play more positions than Messi. In the end, many would agree that Ronaldo is superior due to his ability to score in the air, dribbling, ball skills/tricks, and finishing/shot power.

EDIT: Here's a fun fact for you, Real Madrid is in the Group of Death for the UEFA Champions League and FC Barcelona is in what group? A crappy one. 'Nuff said.

 

Not really, they are both as versatile as each other. Messi has been played almost everywhere, midfield, wings, striker. Same with Ronaldo.

I think Messi is the better player, by a small margin. Ronaldo is good, but sometimes he is underwhelming.

 

I cant choose between them, but i´d suggest making a new poll inclunding Henry and Zidan my favorite players

Messi is far, far better.
Ronaldo is a showoff who really can only perform against crappy teams. Saying that Ronaldo is better in the air... alright... Messi is short so he doesn't go for headers anyways. Messi has far superior ball control, and much better team play. He is much more of a team player than ronaldo is.

 

Ronaldo works "defending", heading, taking penalties, taking free kicks, long distance shots, skills, etc. and IMO he does better job in Portugal than Messi does on Argentina.

 

I'd say Ronaldo, has this '' star '' action when the ball is on his side, amazing at free kicks and Messi is good while he is at Barcelona, because of his support they give him with the ball, not at Argentina though, nope.

 

Messi does well with Barcelona because he has a good team which can get him the ball, and receive the ball when he passes it to them. I'm not saying Argentina is a bad team, but Barcelona is generally a better team. And Messi takes penalties and free kicks too. Ronaldo's skills aren't close to Messi's and Ronaldo only works at defending during corner kicks.

I've seen Messi push back and defend a lot too. You're right, he's definitely as versatile as Ronaldo.

He scores some crackers, but he misses way too many. So many hit the wall or fly over =|

 

In that case Messi isn't better than Ronaldo, Maradona's Argentina wasn't the most powerful team of the world, Maradona made the difference...

 

I think Messi will still have some success with Argentina. He's starting to player better for his country.

 

Messi is a more consistent player where as Ronaldo is more of a occasional burst of awesomeness, but I still think he's better.

Don't really think he'll lead Argentina to a world cup as Maradona did, and I find it amazing that some people say Messi's better than maradona...
