I am guessing he just said this to justify the fact he spent $7K on the SoF

On a serious note.. that is pretty fucked up.

Obviously not everybody will have the ability to spend $7000 on SoF spins, but these numbers just go to show the unfair advantage that the SoF really does give players. You don't even need to spend anywhere near 7 grand to still get a few million XP, a 99, a few hundred mil RSGP, etc.

I don't know how Jagex can ban people for RWT when they are essentially providing the exact same unfair advantage. It is obvious that they are just trying to eliminate the competition and force all the RWT'ers to use the SoF to get their gold and XP.

It saddens me to see how far RuneScape has come in the wrong direction. I would never have imagined there would be a day that we could pull up a screen and spin a magical wheel full of free items, GP, and exp. :noworry:

I know. If a year ago someone said they spent $7000 on a load of xp, gold and items directly from Jagex, I'd be so upset. It's ridiculous, but Jagex have managed to slowly release them all and make it seem not so bad.

Wow, that's a lot of spins and xp. I won't flame him for buying those spins as he seems well off in life and probably rich as fuck.

I don't think that's fair. I've seen worse hobbies that cost more.

Yeah, just like anything else in the world constant exposure to any thing will make you desensitized or tolerant of it. There will come a day when these sorts of updates are completely normal and we will think nothing of them (not necessarily agree with them - but it will be old news by that point).

I feel bad for the OP getting flamed so much, as people are missing out on the main point which is the data that he provided. We all have to admit, it is pretty fascinating!

The only think I disliked about the OP is how he tried to portray himself as some kind of super rich guy, to whom dropping $7K on the SoF is like dropping some pocket change at the bar on the weekend.

Despite his justifications, I can't help but suspect that he is likely some sort of gambling/slot machine addict and blew $7K that would otherwise have been for paying his rent, buying his daughter some diapers, and putting food on the table.

This man truly has the money to spend, but that doesn't mean he has no life. How can you call someone that spent $7100 on a game a no life? He obviously does SOMETHING in order to have that amount of money to blow.

And even if he didn't have it to really blow, he still had it in general. How many of you can say you have $7100 in your pocket right now? No life? I think not.

Holy cow, its nuts how much money he threw against it.
Nevertheless, if your like really rich, why not?

Interesting to see the numbers and it does prove Jagex allows you to buy stats now :(

    This is something very useful.
But 7 grand is just too much to spend on a game...
    Even if you're a billionaire.
Thanks to the OP for posting this though.

Guess Jagex didn't expect anyone would actually do this AND keep track of the rewards.

Didn't expect - Probably hoped though. That's a nice little bit of money for them to take in from the one player.

Spending such amount of money isn't a joke which only prove that Runescape isn't just like no ordinary games around.

Wow... US$7k is indeed alot to spend on a game.

But then again, he have the right to do what he wants with his money. I do hope Jagex put that money to good use.

If he has the $7200 to put in that much info about how you can buy your success in a game like this, I doubt he has worries about transportation.

Unlike what a lot of others seem to think of him, I doubt he is trying to mask something like blowing all of his savings on this. All of his spelling mistakes, etc. aside...it's just too well thought out imo. This guy seems like he was fully aware of what he was doing as he bought the spins. How many people do you know with major addictions that actually keep track of anything? Most just are in a I don't care/oblivious state of mind.

So someone spends much more money than you probably have to and/or would spend on a game and they are automatically assumed to have a problem, no questions asked...yeah, makes perfect sense.

I'd only agree with you if it came to the point that it was really hurting others as well as himself...as in if he was found to have wasted all of his "family's" savings on something like this while he continues to do it. If it's solely his cash, seemingly some spare at that, it's his business what he spends it on.

Like others have already mentioned, there are people who've gone to worse extremes.
