Dissapointed about RSGP donations

Added Nick on MSN about 2 weeks ago. Hasn't been online/denied my request. TBT is online occasionally but he needs his bond updated and he can't contact Matthew. DONATING really shouldn't be that hard... Quite discouraging.

 

Is there a reason why we can't send western union directly to sythe or matthew ? I assume that's what the people who are accepting rsgp donations do?

 

Donations are down because of the price of RSGP lately... and TBT is perfectly safe to donate too. There's a couple of others if you look as well...

:/ I know it can be frustrating because you wan't to donate, but Nick isn't the only person who accepts donations buddy, try TBT!

If it means you can't donate for another 2 weeks I wouldn't worry about it. There's nothing you can do, just wait until it's back up and running properly

Yes I did... That's why I responded. You've posted about this before on the forums regarding donations...

That's why I also said "There's others too", which means you can donate to other people, not only Nick and TBT. And I read that TBT isn't accepting right now because of his bonds but it's likely that he'll be back up and running before the donations centre.

Try not to be such a dick when someone is trying to help you. I wasn't raging or saying anything bad, other than saying to wait until everything is back to normal...

Well sorry but that makes me suspect that you didn't read it at all. And just because I point that out (without throwing in 20 smileys) doesn't mean that I'm being a dick.

And for the record, these two ARE the only ones accepting RSGP donations at the moment.

^I think hes referring to the TBT part. He stated in the OP that he had already tried TBT.

Nick seems to be inactive right now, and Grave seems to have stopped for the time being.

I know PayPal is probably everyone's preferable form of donating, the reason there are limits in place on it is due to people charging back and fucking the Sythe PP account up thus no one can donate to Sythe through PP.

I know Matthew used to do Mail donations some time back, but they stopped after he moved house. If he'll start that back up again I have no idea.

 

GP is very difficult to resell at a decent, safe price. 95/100 people wishing to donate Gp only do $5 worth which is a hassle as well. I believe Grave is taking the $5 donations right now though. I'm hoping the market recovers but we'll see.

 

I'm looking to donate 100$ worth, and I guess I can add 10m if that'd make it easier for you to resell.

EDIT: they only have an allowance of 50$ atm. So it's waiting for Matthew to update all bonds...

 

The donation system has been down for a few weeks now, I believe that many people have asked about it or been really discouraged by it. I'm going to take a chance and put my opinion in here and see if I get flamed by anymore mods/admins for doing it like I usually do.

I see absolutely no reason for them to close up donations until GP prices are to go back up, any "Smart" black market would take advantage of such an occasion to make some extra cash in fact.

Think about it, almost anyone that is willing to donate RSGP right now to get a donation rank isn't going to mind spending an extra 5M+ over the original price to get that rank.

So why not take advantage of this and take all the donations you can, then sit back with all the cheap gold you have compiled and wait for the prices to go back up. Both parties would be happy considering they got their donation rank they were so eager to get, while you got a nice little profit once prices are back to normal.

Like I said though, this is just a mere opinion, and I'm almost 100% positive that there will be a mod/admin below me flamming how it would be a bad idea, or perhaps how I should get "educated" like I was told on a previous thread.

Anyways, that's how I feel about this subject.

In response to the most people only donate $5 worth, that's so they can donate via PayPal afterwards I'm assuming because that's what I planned on doing since it's just easier to do it via PayPal and you can't donate that way until you're already a $5 donor.

 

Just remember that these people are providing a service to you and Sythe members. They aren't exactly "Obliged" to run this and they do invest some time into them. I don't even think they're classed as official.

I do hope someone can help you out soon. Sythe would love your donation but the RuneScape economy is so bad the service providers could get hit. It's much easier to donate now though than it was when back in 2010 you had to donate through Mail :S

 

We're back up now. I'll also speak with Matthew about processing Western Union and some other methods.

 

Grave is up, I used him to donate, but the prices are more expensive. :/

 

We have to remember, that this is a community member providing a service, I can understand if they want to make a little something to make up for the time and efforts they're implementing.

I think some community members need to remember that firstly, these members are providing a service. They aren't exactly official and therefore shouldn't really be criticised. Also, let's remember that even if it takes you an extra week or so to donate, the donation still goes through to Sythe and Matthew and it's still the same amount of money, and that's all that should really matter.
