I admit i think spending $7200 on spins is a waste of money, but then again after further thought who am i to determine it...? It's his money, his choice, as long as he didn't obtain the money by hurting people or affected other people directly with his spending i think it's fine.

As long as it brings him enjoyment... Like some avid cyclists spending $10K on a bike may be a no big deal since they love the sport so much. In this case, canbestopped enjoyed himself spending it on SPINS !

There's people who spend a lot more on games than that. On WoW I know somebody who spent close to $10k on items, gold, and character levelling.

On rs I'm sure there are people who invest around the same amount, if you think about it the time you spend playing the game suppose 4-5 hours a day. That's about $50/ day at minimum wage. Now multiply that by 200 days on minimum you will play that's about $10k investment of your time at a minimum wage job. He may have spent 7k but the time he saved exp wise was a lot more, if you played legitimate for 4-5 hours a day for 200 days you would earn 100million experience at 100k exp per hour which is pushing the average for most skills. Whereas he got 184.5mil exp which is almost double the experience so you're looking at investing twice as long to reach the point he reached experience wise. Not to mention 24,034,190 Slayer experience would take very long to gain as the experience/ hour is extremely low.

Also it's his hobby he can spend as much as he wants to. In most cases your hobby is a sink hole any ways whether its gaming, car customs, collecting things. Most require money and in most cases the investment is far more than the rate of return. Your hobbies are different to his so there's no reason to criticize his spending.

 

Sorry but spending $7k in a game is a major problem, no matter what you think.

That isn't even scraping the surface of a major gambling issue. Going to the casino and putting your house on a hand of black jack, or spending every paycheck you make on slots is a major gambling issue.

The guy clearly has a lot of free time and money, and he decided to do something that interested him. Really not that much different than spending a few hundred/thousand dollars on model trains, or flying miniature planes.

 

This makes me sad.
Though $7000 is like $1000 to us, whatever "us" means, seeing someone spend even $1000 on any game would make me sad.
