non virtual price check idea

On the main post have a list of common items sold and have a price range. Makes it easier for people buying and selling to see a decent price and they wouldn't have to wait for a reply.

Ideas? Thoughts? Like it?

For example:

iPod Touch 8gb - $100-$150
Xbox 360 (white) - $75-$100 controllers add $15 ea
iPhone 32gb (AT&T) - $200-$300
Etc.
etc.
etc.

 

Then make a post like that . If it's good enough I'm sure it'll be stickied. And to be honest, prices of nonvirtual items change all the time... A scratched iphone isn't worth as much as a new one.

And that's why i was saying a price range. So low price would be bad condition high would be excellent condition.

 

Err not a bad idea... But it really depends on the user how much they want to sell it for. If I were to consider buying something from here I'd do my own price checks and look on Ebay and Amazon not just reply on price checks posted here.

Nevertheless, not a bad idea It would give a better indication of scratched or damaged goods prices as you said.

Honesty, this. Not to mention the condition of the item can vastly affect prices.

Also, the list would require being updated quite often. I mean for a list that probably won't be checked often, it will take a lot of effort to maintain as prices fluctuate all the time. Another reason includes if a member wants to sell say his iPod touch for a higher price than on the list, he may not get sales because everyone sees his charging price is higher than the list. That members deserves the right to set a price he's happy with.

Nice idea in theory, it just won't work practically.

 

I personally don't like the idea of price checks especially for this and runescape accounts because there are so many factors that come into play. It's not really possible for you to give someone a very accurate price check and in the end it comes down to how trusted you are, the market, payment methods ect.

 

Prices fluctuate depending on a variety of things, I don't think it can really work. You'll have to base it on how trusted you are, the quality of them item, etc. yourself.

 

Trust has nothing to do with the value of the item... and this is a guideline to help people wanting to know the price of theif items quickly so they dont have to post asking the wait and hope someone answers them. As to the list i would be willing to put pne together and update it periodically.

 

I agree with punker on this one, plus there are so many different items being sold in that section, it would be too time consuming to list them all.

Trust has a lot to do with the market. If I am trusted it is near Gary teed, unless I go rouge, that you will get the item which means you can charge more. Why do you think large gold sellers can get away with selln gold for outrageous prices? This idea just isnt pragmatic or all that useful.

 

I didn't read through the counter arguments, but I support it. The thing is, it wont take more than 30 minutes, and doesnt need to be updated but once a month. Its not that hard, so why not just do it?

OP if you want to compile a big list, you can try and get some global to sticky it at the top of the virtual trade market.

 

How do you think R2Pleasant is able to sell his goods at a higher price, and still get so much traffic? That Highly Trusted rank speaks for itself really.

 

An iPhone is going to cost the same no matter who is selling it within reason. idgaf about rsgp or who gives a fuck that is gay shit. im talking cold hard tangible goods. They will be sold for relatively the same price. Just because someone is more trusted doesn't make that item more valuable. yes you may feel better buying from them but the item still has the same value as someone that has 2 vouches.

This is to make finding out the price of your item a hell of a lot faster than posting asking how much it is worth, waiting for someone to finally answer the question, and hoping that they aren't fucking with you and giving you a retarded price.

In my opinion if you're selling something you should know how much it's worth or at least know how much you want for it in mind. If you're buying an item you should know the max you're going to pay and about how much it's worth. Example there's a pair of Rayban Wayfarers on sale right now, I wouldn't just buy them from that person for $200 without looking into the normal rate on line any ways. I can see the thread being both useful and at the same time not needed as it's simple to google using product search

 

It would be fairly hard to manage. Maybe a price check forum with no post count would be more organized?

 

I like how it is right now, bids, A/W, etc. Or simply a set price by the OP.
