"Something For All"

The title "Something For All" is nondescript and it confuses newcomers. "Debate" is more apt. As sentimental as I am, I think the change is overdue.

 

Just change the description to make it clear and concise.

 

thought this for a real while, even something along the lines of debate or intellectual discussion would be more fitting.

 

The description clearly states what it is about, and even if you do go in there then there are numerous stickies that cover the sections general theme.

 

I've never read a single description until now.
Further, the title should at least give a vague understanding of the content of the forum. "SFA" doesn't imply debate at all, and that's all the forum is about.

I understand that, but will you admit that the title is rather useless? That alone warrants a change. It's like naming a raunchy horror film "Power Puff Girls," writing an actual description in the fine print, and acting confused when ten year olds show up.

I agree the title could]/i] be changed to something more appropriate or fitting, but it's not really necessary. The description is good enough I think.

 

I would have to agree with Tyro on this. "Something for all" is a very broad term and does not accurately represent the section at all. This would literally take an admin 30 seconds to fix so I don't see a problem with naming it something simple such as "Debate section".

 

I agree with this completely, I never really understood why it was called Something for All, when it is simply a Debate forum.

 

I don't know why it's called "Something For All" either, and renaming it to something more appropriate would be better in the long-run. I'm assuming this suggestion should be approved by Richard, though, considering that's his forte.

 

It's really trivial so I would support the change.

What I'd like to know is why Sythe (or whomever named it) decided to call it that.

 

All I can assume is it was a ploy to get more users to check out the section and feel less intimidated by some of the intellectual discussion.

 

Whats ironic is that it's not something for all, it's only something for intelligent discussion, hehe.

I agree that it should be changed to something like "Debate." @rsaccounttrader - I don't feel that it should be changed to "Intelligent Discussion" because you can post intelligent discussion in the General Off Topic section as well.
