    Chargeback Scam..

Can we have some more details? Are you using PayPal? Was it a credit card chargeback or a dispute created on PayPal?

    Chargeback Scam..

You can't completely prevent it, but you can use some precautions when trading. Such as sending it as a gift or stating in the message that it's a virtual item, when PP doesn't support return of virtual items.

    Chargeback Scam..

Putting in the statement that it's for a virtu transaction generally doesn't work. I had a dispute against me once and i called PayPal and they said they don't support virtual transactions at all and i abused the gift option.

    Chargeback Scam..

Some basic tips off the top of my head:
    - Use chargeback free payment options like Western Union, Money Gram, Liberty Reserve, Player Auctions, Moneypack, etc
    - Look at the person's vouch count, post count, etc
    - If they're overpaying and really willing to go first its likely a scam
    - You can ask for people's IDs to prove their ownership of their paypal account (People can still use proxies to make it seem like they're hacked)
    - I'd suggest accepting payments as services with a note like "Payment for a service already completed" rather than gifts.

Other than the first option you can't completely prevent chargebacks, but after a while you learn how to better protect yourself.

    Chargeback Scam..

I think it's better as a gift, and if they say this is for runescape gold for the user "username" if you show them a screen shot trading them gold I think you'll win the dispute but I'm not too sure, I've never done it before Oo.

    Chargeback Scam..

Do not use/abuse the gift feature. This WILL result in your paypal being limited/locked. I KNOW THIS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

The gift option is just that. A GIFT. Use of it for sales/purchases WILL get you hemmed up by paypal in a hurry.

There's honestly no way to 100% prevent a chargeback. Best advice I can give is obtain as much information as possible during the trade, and submit it during the dispute in hopes that paypal sides with you. I have tens of thousands of dollars worth of paypal funds handled, and I am speaking from experience when I say this.

    Chargeback Scam..

I know this sounds like a pain, and it could cut your profits a bit. But I normally just deal with RSGP on Sythe as my currency. It can't be charged back and its safe as safe can be. (Unless Jagex get you for RWT, doesn't appear to happen too often these days.)

Then every now and then I just sell all my RSGP on Sythe to a trustworthy Gold buyer. Sure you make a little bit less money, but I haven't been scammed or had to deal with a PayPal dispute in years.

    Chargeback Scam..

Yeah, I'm not saying all newcomers can't be trusted, but basically the majority of them are former members who've been banned and have returned to make some money. It's an unfortunate reality that we have to put up with on Sythe. I personally would recommend staying clear of using PayPal with these sorts of members in the future.

Hopefully this is the last time you have someone rip you off, good luck in the future! :)

    Chargeback Scam..

I read somewhere that the best option is for the buyer to send it as "services", in which case you just have to confirm that you did them a service (giving them gold, etc), but I'm not sure, because the only chargeback I've ever had was from a creditcard.

    Chargeback Scam..

Technically, classing the transaction as a Service still shouldn't help - as it's a virtual transaction. Have you ever had a case created and won it because you had the payment sent to you as a service?
