How would you change Sythe.org?

I know there is the feedback section for this but if your suggestion got denied or you feel it wouldn't gain enough support then here is the place you can just share your thoughts with the other users on the site and just get some feedback on what they think of it.

I would change Sythe.org in a way where every time someone quotes your post you get a notification in your PM inbox so you know someone has and you can easily see what they quoted and you can then go ahead and reply or just read it.

 

Even though it'll never happen, I'd want Sythe to limit the amount of scammers in the runescape market by giving it certain requirements. (Post count/whatever).

I know that market would be getting less traffic like that obviously, but 90% of newcomers (yes, I pulled that statistic out of my ass), are scammers.

Sythe seems to be a huge amount of newcomers who either sell/scam one things and leave, and a small amount of people who actually are involved with the community. There are very few people who don't fit any of those 2 categories.

 

Get a decent server so it didn't give me errors left right and center, use MyBB instead of VB and decrease the number of RuneScape sections.

 

This site was designed around RuneScape...


Anyway, I like your idea about the quoted messages thing! Would be awesome =) And also a "Star rating" for traders... over time they build up a number amount of stars and the more stars they have the more reputable and trusted the trader it... idk haha. Might be good to see.

 

I didn't say get rid of them, I said slim down on then.

 

I'm not very tech savvy and I don't really have any idea about forum software or hosting, but I'd probably try and change whatever it is that causes all these errors. It can be quite frustrating at times :/. (Not saying that Sythe doesn't try to fix them or anything)

 

I am about to post this in suggestions, but I would put a "User Posts" or simply, "You're posts", as it's own button next to "New Posts" on the top Sythe.org bar. I am always finding myself trying to find who replied to what, and if I accidentally click the homepage after reading a thread, I have to go into my profile and click my posts and find my way to where I was all over again, and while it seems like not much to deal with, it truely is A LOT to deal with if you are like me(like 95% of Sythe) and post replies to people's posts, and expect a reply back to one of every six or so posts you post throughout you're day.

 

There's a slightly similar suggestion already going found at this link. This suggestion is talking about a link to the persons profile instead so you can access your threads and posts a lot more easily. It's been suggested a million times before and I'm honestly not quite sure it hasn't been implemented :/

Why? So you can look yourself in your room whenever they come over?

Why does the forum need to be changed? It's the longest running forum for a reason. Competition just gets squashed everytime (with a few exceptions).

 

Would turn away legit new members and severely limit growth.

We have a very good server. The errors are mainly due to attacks now and Richard is working on solutions to make the database for reliable.

 

Even though I don't really post much, from what I have experienced the site doesn't really have any major flaws.

 

I'm personally pushing for the forum revamp (vb4) and some sort of feedback system to replace the vouch situation like itrader.

 

I would love for the programming sections to become busy again and for the website to go back to a cheating and market community as opposed to a strictly market based one.

I would like the other games section to start getting activity, and for other game markets to expand.
