Anyone get into the Xbox Internet Explorer Beta?

Wondering if anyone else got into the new beta that gives you internet explorer on wondering xbox 360.

 

My friend said he got the beta via email, and he said that he had to 'sign' a non disclosure agreement or something, maybe he just had to check a box or something but Idk

 

I didn't know anything about this, and therefore i haven't either.

But i don't quite see the point, browsing the internet on your Xbox would be rather inconvenient and ineffective as a method of surfing the web.

Imo Xbox is for gaming, if you want to browse the internet, that is what a laptop or a computer is for.

 

Yeah they make you agree to a contract which means you cant post pic's up in the internet or talk about it's features.

 

Ohhh i got a buddy who was able to hack it during the release.
So far what he has told me is some good news and some bad for future gaming.
Has to do with some technical stuff that is to much to get in depth with.

All in all i think the Update with the Explorer is just a way to make more $.
As to Explorer is owned by Microsoft so expect some type of ads all over.

 

The agreement is to not leak any pictures of the beta.

 

Hah, and I remember one of the Microsoft support advisers saying that there'd never be a browser for Xbox because it'd be a "sluggish" and "painful" experience. Guess he's not working there anymore.

 

I don't really think this would work at all. I remember trying out the Opera powered browser on the Nintendo Wii, it was terrible. Only ever used it as a way to get Youtube on my T.V - which you can already do with the Youtube app on the Xbox.

 

you're forgetting that's the Wii lol. ps3's firefox browser was always kickass when i had a ps3 in early '07. can't imagine that xbox getting IE could be any worse.

Never even knew this beta existed..so unfortunately, no, I didn't get invited which is a shame.

 

Maybe, but is there a real point to being able to access the internet on your T.V?

 

The internet explorer is pretty awesome..
Its what im using now which i argue that they should make an
update for multiple windows.
