I tend to go off of topic sometimes but just ignore it if i do..also my grammar is BAD and my spelling isn't the best so, please don't flame.

So recently, i'v been thinking a lot about sythe.org in general, and well it got me thinking about a few things.

I have met, and become good friends with quite a few people on here and i'm not saying that i have no life, and never go out, but i mean i spend 10+ hours on the computer a day now just because there is nothing else to really do around my town + all my friends are off to college ect, and it's just really awesome being able to be part of such an awesome community, and have met some of the people that i'v met. (Pockets, T.B.T, Laptop, Kinaesthic are just some of the few good friends i'v met on here)

Next, i have thought about donating. Yeah some sythe.org members donate to try and fake trust and scam and get banned, that is a constant cycle that happens on sythe every day and it makes me sick. I donated 14M rsgp back when i had just joined sythe because i wanted to have a little donation rank and i just thought it looked cool, but now that i have almost 2k posts, i'v realized that donating to me, means alot more. I'm on this site literally ALL DAY unless i go out obviously, i post around, help people out, and just make conversation with people, along with a few services/selling items. (i'm not sure how "Known" i am..) But now that i'm getting more known within the community i'v really wanted to just prove to everyone that i'm not just another "Average sythe user" I want to prove my trust, and progress higher and higher in the website, and that is why i've recently decided that i need to get 300.00 donator, not to show my trust just because of what this site has done for me and given to me, it's just something i feel everyone should do (not 300.00 but anything even 5.00)

I can also remember when i 1st joined the site, i saw the "Highly Trusted" and "Highly Respected" ranks, and told myself that i would do anything and everything i could to try and achieve that someday (highly unlikely) but i know and a few of the names i listed above, will remember telling them that at some point in time. I'm not trying to just say i'm the best trusted person alive, but i very much enjoy doing my part in the community by helping others, it's just something that i feel obligated to do.

So in all honisty, sythe is way more than just a forum site for me, it's more like a "E-Family" and i'm glad to not just be an "Average sythe user"

So...i guess my question to anyone out there is, is sythe just another website/forum page you use, or does it actually mean more than that to you? I know for me, it's became more than that, it's something that i'v been VERY active in and plan to stay active and do my part of being on this site and just help out anyone and everyone i can.

Sorry for the long read but i hope someone can relate to this like me.

EDIT: I also remember a while back i saw "Lillie_Services application" (Don't hate) and i clicked it and Lillie_services was looking to find people to work for them, and i was very excited to see this as i had always wanted to work for someone that was more "Well known" on sythe than myself especially someone who ran a pretty well known skilling service, and after the application trials ect. i finally made it out of everyone who applied and i have to say, that has been one of the most awesome feeling that i'v ever felt from a website before. I felt like i'd accomplished something great.

I'm not sure why but being able to work for someone now, is something that i try to work towards every day, it's not that i'm in it for the money (the money is nice) but i just get this awesome feeling when i get to be close with someone, working along side them, helping THEM out, along with whoever we are helping with the service...i'm not sure why maybe it's just the person i am, but my dream job (in a way) would be a personal support moderator for runescape, sythe, ANYTHING, just taking calls helping people, directing them where to go, i just get a "Natural High" when i get to help others.

Agreed. When I got banned from Sythe for a period of time in 2010, I definitely felt like I lost a portion of my life.

I've experienced this as well. One thing I cannot understand (and yet do at the same time) is those who work their way into the trust of members such as us, and then promptly toss it all away for a few $... I've been banned a few times (whether requested etc) and each time I find myself drawn to Sythe and the community here... The men and women I've met through Sythe have always held a strange part in my life that I am unwilling to give up.

    Tl;dr I like sythe too :)

I know what you mean, that is why i said that i don't want to be just another "Average sythe user" VERY trusted people on here like all of the mods that have worked there way up to where they are now, Grave being one of the top gold sellers, people like that keep me motivated to get on every day and keep doing my part for the community.

I know what you mean, i was banned for 3 months for "Self vouching" as i was unaware of that rule at the time, and it was the longest 3 months EVER, I never want to have to do that again. The whole time i was gone, i was most worried about my reputation....i did not want people to think of me as just another "average sythe user" I want to be looked upon by people as a trusted, well respected, fun person.

But i'm glad that i'm back and i never plan on doing anything to get me banned again.

I know whatcha mean. i'm probably just your average Sythe user, but this site has always been good to me & in a way i love this place. i remember getting home from school, or unwinding after football, surfin' the forums and making the occasional post here n there, or browsing the xbox market for hours upon hours lol.

good times. i do think about donating but like many others i'm not really able to pay with any of the donation methods currently.

I completely agree with you. Although I don't really fit in as well as others, this site has been like my family since I came here a year ago for emotional support after my huge breakup/depression and such.

    Good post :)

    This.

I have met a lot of great people and they're so many more awesome people to talk to. I guess it is weird but Sythe is a pretty big part of my life because I am on here quite a few hours a day. When I am not doing anything else I am on sythe.

Well, in the 8 forums I've been a mod on, and in just this forum alone, I don't feal as welcome, as most others. Sure, I'm not the most socail guy in the world, but that's a choice I've always chosen, I don't like socailizing unless it's mostly in real life, people hide behind there computer on here (no offense) and it just isn't as real as I'd like, believe it or not, I'm 15 years old, and one of the most socail, outgoing people you'll ever meet in Canada.

I realise how you connected to sythe, and it's quite intresting, (sucks that all your friends ditched you fro uni though:p ) Nevertheless this post is kind of insperational, but I feel, that a lot of the members on here would scam, for the right amount/oppertunity. There are few people who wouldn't, and that is why I chose not to donate.

In time, if the forum runs more smooth, then I shell donate in the future~

    Agree with this completely.

Sythe is definitely a part of my life, a routine. I do a lot of things on a daily basis but Sythe is generally one of the most repetitive things i do. I couldn't imagine being banned or not having it anymore, it would, without a doubt be a major impact on my life.

I agree that sometimes people aren't as welcoming or embracing to newcomers. You just have to stick around and be friendly, really.

What I have learned is that there is a huge divider between the community part of Sythe and the market. They're like completely different worlds and the community portion is a lot closer and a lot more tight knit, and I guess it is true that we aren't very welcoming to new people. That is something we should really work on but that is spill over from the market. It is hard to welcome people you don't trust.

    Added a new eddit

I strongly agree with you on that point, and it's sometimes hard to be apart of both, but i think if you can be tightly wound in both parts, i think you have achieved something quite awesome..depending on the person, both are awesome parts to be in, but for someone like me, i love to make money and enjoy the market side, but then again i 110% love the community, and enjoy being apart of it.

I agree with this as well, but we (or they) tend to be far more willing to welcome those who have something to add to our discussions and community. Persistence is the key : Take Alma for example. For the the majority of his membership on Sythe, he was not quite as well received as I imagine most would like to be. He kept at it though and is now widely accepted as a valuable and legitimate member of this community.

And you wonder why you "dont feal welcome here". First, you're probably just another vader judging from your immense knowledge of past history here on Sythe. Second, ever since you joined, WHICH WAS YESTERDAY, you have been nothing but proactive here. The feeling you get that you're not welcome isn't because you're "not the most socail guy in the world", it's because you're annoying and like to start drama everywhere you go.

I'm sorry, but how do the hundreds of scammers on this site have anything to do with you donating? That's horrible logic and makes absolutely no sense at all.

Being welcomed by community has relation to vading, and knowing history of sythe? o.o ADHD FTL

First of all, learn the rules, its against them to accuse people, and being new like your self, check out dem rules...lol. And start drama? Im giving feedback on a thread, while you're spamming it...LOL NEWFAGS

Why donate to a site that hosts scammers, I don't support it. Honestly it's liek you enjoy being dummed down LOL.

First of all, Read the whole post before replying
second of all, make sure you don't sound like a complete retard when you reply
and lastly, there is an ignore button for a reason, I know you're most likly new, (as am I) but when you adapt to a new forum, you learn things quickly. Just because I'm new to sythe, doesn't mean I dont know things? there are community outside of sythe!

    See those^

They're letters, combined, make words, and those together, make SENTENCES, challenge yourself, you'll go far, faggot.

ON TOPIC: I realised, in the community, it adapt's, changes and such, no one would trust a new comer now, compared to a year ago...

    As Gohan stated :
I'm just guessing here, but he's a vet, back then community was probabaly more small, less scammers, and more fun! Now it's huge community, more members, bigger site, and the more bigger, the more of a monopoly people can have on certain markets, like selling guides, gold, account shops, name hoarders etc. This, in my mind, ruin's site, people like newcomers come here to sell there acc for cash, but due to the scammers/well known people, it ruin's that. It's difficult to become trusted.

    rich get richer
    poor get poorer
That's his opinion, which makes sence. There is probabaly co

It used to be a HUGE amount of my life. I would wake up to do reports, to talk to my friends, this site was literally my life(I have the highest post count on this website, and at the time I joined the highest was around 10k so yeah, It played a huge role in my life. I made so many amazing friends that I still talk to today, but after a while you move on and for me the site is just dull now. Don't get me wrong, if I was banned I would probably miss it, but only because I've spent so much time here. It is a great site nonetheless, and I don't regret spending all the time I did here. So just be glad man, be glad you have friends to talk to, and keep them with you forever, even after the site shuts down (in a few years or maybe even never).
