    Issue with my landlord

Ok so today I woke up and took my dogs out to go to the bathroom like any other day. My dogs pee when they first come out then we walk to the park about half a block away and they take a dump. I always clean up after them and they never shit in the yard just at the park by this little stream that is about 4 inches deep.

But today I walk outside and my landlord tells me I need to have my dogs piss off the property. Not even sure how that makes sense. I know people are like Crime Dog McGruff about dog shit which they have never shit in the yard and is always cleaned up at the park and stuff. His reason was because he can smell pee. I sniff around and ask people and no one smells pee. I have been to dog parks and you can not really smell a dogs pee outside in the wide open.

Anyways I just agree so he can continue on with his day but I can't stop my dogs from taking a leak outside. What should I do punish my dogs for pissing in the bush in my yard? That is just unreasonable. Not to mention the building I live in is basically College party central. Almost a giant frat house I guess. Parties all night not that I can hear them inside my house. Also there are other dogs in the building other than mine. I know one owner lets his dog shit in the grass right off the parking lot and never even cleans it up.

So basically I am asking is he even allowed to make such a request. I mean dog pee really? There is no law against a dog urinating anywhere I am aware of. Also noting this is not about damages or anything like that but just the fact the smell that apparently only he can smell. So what could he really do if my dog pisses in the yard in front of my apartment?

Assuming your contract says you're allowed to have pets in the surrounding area, it all depends if it also states where you must take them to use the bathroom. However, if your contract doesn't have a renewal of lease contract and he's letting you live there for however you long you want, he has the ability to evict you giving you a 30 day eviction notice.

Depends on your lease agreement, dog urine will kill the grass if they always pee in the same area, so even though he might be bullshitting about the urine smell he does have grounds for the complaint as killing the grass is property damage whether he knows about it or not. I don't know how laws work in the states, but grass on the other side of the sidewalk where I am is considered public property and you might be able to just drag them down there to piss.

You get used to the smell of pee once you are around it a lot, or your landlord might just be an asshole. I suggest you just buy one of those dog training pad mats so your dog can piss inside.

    Issue with my landlord

Have a lease for a year and it states my dogs are ok to live there and nothing else.

Not really sure how to describe it but there isn't much grass in front of my house its like a giant brick sidewalk kinda and the grass isn't destroyed or anything.

I was thinking yeah maybe I did get used to it but me and my girlfriend asked other people if they could smell anything. They said no we didn't even mention dog pee till after they said no. My dogs don't go out pee that often. 3-4 times a day and 2 of those times we take them off the property to the park for a walk and sometimes take em off their leash and throw the ball around.

Basically I think the guy is just being a dick and when I met him the other morning he just needed something to complain about. Which I don't know why he would complain about us. Dogs are fairly well mannered and we are very quiet no parties or anything like that and always pay rent on time.
