Got Hacked for the first time

First off I did not download anything off of youtube. I bought a vps to bot and the only bot I EVER used on the vps was powerbot. Today I tried logging into my vps but vnc viewer's password was changed and when i logged into runescape, my account was at the bank with all my gp gone. The last log in ip was from my vps. I dont really care about the gold because I basically had only had 13 mil. Is my computer compromised? Should I reformat my computer? And why would they hack me through my Vps? Any thoughts?

 

Backup and reformat for sure to ensure safety.

 

Damn, unlucky dude :/ I'd do some Virus scans, and back up your computer files. If you still feel you're computer is unsafe just format it. Hope you don't get hacked again =)

 

It's best to ensure your computer's security before continuing, but sorry to hear that

 

doesn't seem like it was much, but if that was your whole bank I'd be mad.

Like others have said, try a format and reinstall

 

Figureout where you've been and who had access.

 

If the VPS was VPSInfinity.com, then my account was also compromised.

You would have been sent an email. Send them a support ticket so they can verify.

Someone working/previously worked there accessed the VPS servers and cleaned many accounts.

 

Do a full virus scan, Might have a keylogger.
