Gold Farming worth it?

Hey so ive been thinking about starting a gold farming thing and i was wondering if its worth the investment i was going to put in about 150-200$ into it and im just a bit scard now that jagex is going try hard against bots so is it worth it?

 

No. It's too late.

The RSGP price has significantly dropped and there is an expected bot nuke soon.

 

Not to me, I'm normally against it.
1) You need a good army of accoutns with good enough levels to do the method you wish to farm
2) You need a good bot/script that is stable and works for long hours for your specific method
3) You need to buy a powerful enough computer or VPS/VPN to run all of your bots
4) You need to manage, transfer, solve randoms, fix any messups that happen on each account
5) Gold prices are crap right now, and many money making methods are abused so gp/hr is loe
6) If/When your method dies, becomes too highly farmed, script breaks down, bot breaks down, etc you need to find a whole new method that works with your specific accunts/levels

The amount of money you make working a normal job, even minimum wage is SO MUCH MORE $/hr you can make gold farming. Just working part time at a fast food place would make you A LOT more than farming in most cases.

On top managing and making sure your bots are all running well at all hours, you have to deal with selling the gold, getting customers, dealing with people etc.

Not worth it to me, I'm not a fan.

 

I'm with yohojo on this one, unless you're planning on running atleast a small army of bots (60+) its really not worth it and a job would be better suited.

just think 20 bots making 150k an hour average is only 72m every 24hours thats hardly a meal ticket.

Also I should mention, with the amount of people botting at frosts your making anywhere from 150k-700k an hour on a maxed account, kind of pointless as I'm pretty sure that doesnt include supply costs.

 

imo u either make 100 accounts or you go mini goldfarming
imo mini goldfarming is good for us normal people
ie u make 2 accounts 85 dung to kill frost
well u make 2 other accounts to do barrows
and have anthor 2 being made on the side to do frost
youll make around 20 bucks a day which is nice chump change

 

It costs more to create the bots and goldfarm then you would profit. If you have a 100+ bot army at 200k/hr you would make 20mil/hr lets say you botted for 15hrs a day thats 300mil a day 9bil a month 9bil is around 3.2k$ atm lets not mention it would take at least 1.4bil to pay for the memebrship for all those accounts take another 500$ off now its 2.7k$ a month profit take another 2k for the vps congratulation!!! you made 700$ in a month!!!!

 

It's not worth the maintenance anymore. You're better off getting a real job, or learn how to make graphics. A far better investment to make some real cash.

I myself leave a few bots open usually, it is good small extra hang cash in the game.

But this upkeep? $0 for me.

So, it is slow but good money since they are free to play and 90+ woodcutting; etc.

If you can get enough of accounts such as these or something then you can be pro but not spending anything :O

 

this is the worst time ever to even consider starting a bot farm dont do it.

The new updates going to royally fuck bots for a good long while wait till things stabilize after the eoc and bots are back up and running and gp prices start to stabilize then it would be a lot more of an intelligent and more than likely lucrative decision.

 

if you have a method that can make you 500k+ an hour minimum it'd be worth it, certainly if your pc can bot 20 accounts at once.

24 x 20 x .5 x .4 = $96 your daily profit (assuming you sell your gp for $.4/m)

 

Bot farming only really becomes worth it when you're averaging >250k/hr and using on the upwards of 80 accounts.. Takes a lot of investment and time to manage but the overall reward annihilates most decent paid jobs.

 

It depends how much you value your time. If you canbf to maintain x amount of bots then it is worth it, even if those bots are only paying for a meal. I would spend 5 minutes a day turning on my bots if it means it is going to pay for a meal.

I can't add much more to this besides that if your willing to put time into it, yes it can be, however you have to be very smart about it or it's easy to lose money in it as well.

I use to run a small (12 bot) farm for just personal use. For me, I felt that it was great because I was technically "buying" gold for over half of what I could through traditional means. I was also spending 10+ hours a week just maintaining these bots as well though.

It's a personal choice, just figure out if you have the time to dedicate.

 

Its fun going to the chump change route, paying for things on the side with no effort.

 

This honestly. If you didn't start by now, don't even bother. I'd wait for Eoc and bot nuke to see situation, but as long as the bots that are massively used are UP gold price is gonna be shit.

Gold farming is seriously not worth the hassle at this point in time. Around a month ago I tried restarting up my frost dragon farm, but with supplies sky rocketing and frost dragon bones dropping it really isn't worth it. I've yet to find another good bottable method - and knowing that the method will die in a matter of weeks is what really gets to me!

 

Not worth it right now, GP prices are too low and bots will be broken for a while, not too long from now.
