Chances that the combat update will NOT happen?

Is there any possibility of the combat update not taking place?

 

no. they put too much work in it. and (sadly) never listens to the people

 

JaGex Want money, Therefore if they put some effort into an update, they won't waste the money they have put in.

 

We don't like the update as a majority but they don't care, they want something to attract the new players and they know that older players who have put so much money into the game are going to keep playing because they have done so, and they won't lose the large majority of rich, and high skilled main veterans.

 

Very doubtful, too much work has already been put into it now, doubt they'll turn around now.

 

No. But they may keep a few rs2 servers online.

fagex wouldn't put that much effort in it if it wouldn't come
you can be sure that it will come, but no one knows when

 

its better off to bot 24/7 dung or combat before it hits idung would take months to recover fromt this update,i really hope they keep some old rs2 combat servers up this way they wont kill us ...

 

Actually polls on numerous websites show that the majority of the player (at least those who voted) support the combat overhaul. Mostly because anyone with half a brain realizes that the current combat system is broken and unbalanced in every sense of the word.

 

They've put too much money into it and they need to keep the game fresh compared to the other games like rs

 

It's possible that they reverse the beta, because of the large amount of quitting members. Like they did for free-trade.

BUT, highly unlikely.

 

Jagex never ever went back from their updates. And this is unlikely to change with EoC update.

I still think the amount of players leaving will be tiny.

 

They will continute with the combat update, i'm not looking forward to it. I just hope that they keep some rs2 servers online.

 

It will take place. There's no reason for them to scrap so much developer time. I like the eoc, and very much looking forward to the new update. I'm not going to leave a game that I spent most of my child hood on.

 

The update is needed to cater to the new generation of gamers so chance of it getting thrown out is slim to zero...

 

Please use the official thread for all discussion related to the Evolution of Combat, and the current BETA.

Also, it has already been confirmed on the RuneScape forums (Combat BETA section in the sticky) that the BETA is going live at some point no matter what. Jagex appears to be lenient with the length of time the BETA is live, stating that they are willing to extend the BETA for a couple of extra months if need be, until it is tweaked to perfection and is widely received positively by the players. I find this slightly comforting and I hope they mean it.
