Lag whenever I play runescape

To rephrase the title, whenever I play runescape and try to watch youtube videos/live streams, or any videos at that matter it's extremely choppy and laggs like hell. Same with when I open the rs hompage with the rs client running. I can never get a good video with no stopping and what not.

I've uninstalled a lot of programs I no longer use. Upgraded my graphics card, not internally, but the latest version.

This computer is old, doesn't belong to myself, but I got it in 2008. Still a windows vista, no need to upgrade it since I got a laptop last year with w7.
No viruses or anything of that sort...

Anyways..

Just need to know why I lag horribly, is it the computer itself? Or? And if so, are there any programs that can help me in this situation?

 

is it just your computer or also other pc's in your network?

 

Just my computer, my laptop isn't with me. So there's only one computer on the network.

 

It honestly could just be your computer. i got a 2011 or 2010 cant remember, but i cant play RS on there client but when i play on swiftkit, powerbot, anything else i dont even lag. The first thing i tried to do after making sure i got java, adobe, all that was tried playing RS.

 

I'm thinking it's the computer, due to it's age, but regardless there must be something I can do to help it. Like a specific download. Not great with comptuers, just know the basics.

 

I have the same problem and my computer is a year older then yours. My CPU is at 100% when im on youtube/ watching a movie and play runescape at the same time.

So i guess you have the same problem as me, your comuter is to old to run Flash/Quicktime/VLC and Java at the same time becuase they both tear on your graphics card.

 

I originally assumed that. Is there anyway to bypass that problem? Besides changing cards.

 

maybe update your software
Microsoft patches, new java (if you have new, reinstall it)

 

Try running runescape in safemode .

 

Try downloading another client to play on such as Swiftkit i'm fine playing on that but lag like hell on the RS site or in the official client.

 

internet problems will result in delay if there is a problem. delay or lag.



computer problems will result in drops of frame rates. 2012 and people still don't know the difference between computer and internet problems.

 

I play runescape in safe mode.
Not using swiftkit.
There is no problems with my internet connections.

It seems around the 6-7 hours of playing runescape the lag begins, and by restarting my computer it resets. Funny fix, but it works.
