Quitting Sythe

This community is plagued with scammers and needs serious work done to prevent them. I have been apart of many communities and never have I had this much of a problem. I'll be back when you guys find some kind of system to keep the scammers out. Goodbye.

Please tell me how you recommend we keep all the scammers out? Shall we require an extensive background check on everyone who signs up? Or possibly become invite only? Maybe we should just tell you who to trade with?

It is up to the individual user to make a judgement call on who they want to trade with. There is no way at all to weed out all the scammers who want to join this site, it will never happen. The only way you will ever see a scammerless sythe is when human beings change, and good luck with that.

There is no such system that pre-judges everyone's personal judgement. Almost anyone would scam for 100bil gp, or lifetime membership. So it's really impossible to judge what every single person's limits are beyond that.

The reason you stay around is to add more legit members to the community. I can't say I haven't been scammed from this site before, but I've only used that as fuel to do the exact opposite for other users, and give more people like you hope. You learn from your mistakes, and judging by the high amount of scam-activity going on here, it is a good learning environment. You just need to make sure you learn, and don't make the same mistake again.

Don't go first to people, allow MMs to handle the trades for you.

But should the site work to prevent the scammers, or should you work on your trading habits? Maybe use a middleman next time? There are plenty of ways to prevent it, you just tried to make a quick trade with someone that's "trusted" and clearly didn't think it through well enough.

 

If u aren't a dumbo and always follow trading prosecures there is no way u can get scammed, don't blame the site on your own lazyness

 

Sythe is big...infact it's the biggest...therefore you cant help the sheer number of scammers. Deal with it.

 

Not sure if you're telling me or him to deal with it. For one I'm smarter than most people so I can already tell who's scamming and who isn't. If I feel like something is wrong I will record it for proof later on.

There are other markets out there. Sythe is the biggest for a runescape market, but doesn't mean other sites are horrible in comparison.

It was aimed at anybody who can't deal with scammers. It's not as if theyre the only ones that have been scammed.

Other sites are just aa bad, I ama member of at least 10. No site is going to be scam free. Sure, smaller sites have time to deal with any nonsense, but they aren't scam free.

 

There is no site just as bad as this current market site. Please name one and I'll give the statistics. No one said anything about scam free sites. Are you reading my replies in a different language?

Dean, yeah I know being scammed sucks, it's an unfortunate reality here on Sythe. I promise you if you stick around you'll learn how to trade safely and you won't have any issues with scammers. I got scammed around 5 times in two weeks when I started here. I learnt from my experience and haven't been scammed in almost two years.

And unfortunately the staff can't predict who will scam and who won't, but they do there very best to support members who are scammed and always ban people with proof saying they have or will scam.

 

people dont be so arrogant... sounds like he has been hit way to many times.... if this happens in the start of a new venture it can break the spirit of most of us... if you ever need advice to weed out the scammers just hit me up on PM m8... hope you get back because i promise you that if you stay and learn the game there is lots of cash to be made and new friends and partners to meet!
