Need help on quitting RuneScape.

I have just spoke with them and they offered me 75$ for my maxed berserker pure, I am unsure about this therefore I will just wait some more time before selling.

You are absolutely right, I am aware I need to get rid off this game as its ruining my life at this moment.

Please, I asked for serious answers as this is a real problem

 

I was the same way as you when I was younger, my cousins got me addicted to the game for around 3 years then I quit for around almost 2 years till I just came back recently to not play the game but to make money off it. I suggest this, find yourself another hobbie that will keep your mind off the game, I personally started playing football and after practices and such I would be too tired to play anything. Or you could just sell the accounts as others have said.

 

I was in your exact situation except I'm younger and have played for many years longer. The way I quit was I sold everything I had on the GE and then sold the gold on sythe. If I got the urge to play I'd do something physically active like run or I'd call up a friend to hang out. Eventually I lost any urge to play the game. The first week is definitely the hardest but if you can find a way to occupy your time it will only get easier.

Pretty much if you want to quit you just have to do it and not go back. It's your life you're dealing with so what other option do you have?

easy. Just sell all your accounts. Go cold turkey.

 

Sell your accounts and gold, then just spend the money on something else? give your passwords to a trusted friend, have them changed? or don't quit and just study more, maybe you'll want to play in your freetime or during the summer

 

Since you want to quit RS, you could sell your accounts or bot GP on them. Who cares whether they get banned or not. If they don't, you get GP you can sell. If they do, you don't have to deal with RS anymore.

You can try to change password to something random. You can try to get the account locked, banned. The best way is by abusing glitches

Run Notepad as administrator and open "hosts" file located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

At the end of the file, write the following code and save.

Delete browser caches. Try to open RS. Assume it is dead.

 

Sell your accounts on Sythe. If you sell them, you get a nice few hundred bucks. If you get scammed, you've still achieved what you aimed to do And then do what rivgen said in the second half of his post xD

Bro, I know how you feel. By reading all the replies you've received, I'd say many of them make a good point. I feel blocking runescape (the website) is a little far fetched. Kinda like what you do when you don't want to bite your nails; you put nail polish on them.

I also started in 2005-2006 and it's an on off thing for me. Selling your accounts is an option, but knowing someone is on a level 137 (a character you've spent 5-6 years making!) and doing lots of sketchy stuff like botting and rwting, it will make you feel weird. And if they lock it (not that you'll know if it is) you will feel even worse.

I suggest you really think about your future and your goals in life. It's what I did. No one should need an avoidance for games. They should come naturally.

Motivate yourself and try and make your timetable at school (or even a study timetable) so you will not find time to play internet games. It's what I did and I slowly forgot about Runescape.
