Infractions change?

Just a little feedback concerning the infractions.

I suggest sythe to incorporate that you get a message when you get an infraction, not everyone checks their profile.

Also instead of using a single word like spamming then make a description so people actually know what they did so they actually has a chance not to do it again.

Personally ive had 2 myself and i have no idea what it's about so in my opinion that actually kills the idea with infractions.

Spamming is kind of obvious how you get those infractions, I believe the exact definition is: 'Short or unhelpful comments that do not pertain to or further the discussion at hand.' I've never received an infraction that was ambiguous and I am sure that if you PM the mod that gave it to you then they will explain to you why you got it.

Some mods send PMs but some don't, it isn't really necessary as following the rules won't garner any infractions and I also don't see how checking your profile one a day or once every other day is that hard.

 

Ehh I don't think this is really needed..
Its one simple click away and you can click on the infraction to see which post it was.

I think the system is just fine, and honestly, a message would only further clutter up your inbox

If we just quote a rule in the infraction, then if you read the rules on the front page you'll soon understand what you've done wrong

We only keep the reason PMs short due to normally the amount of reports we're going through.

Karl the problem is when it says private/spamming. To me that sounds like ive spammed someones inbox or something.

will look over the rules again to acutally see if i can something helpful. Also i did pm the mods...

In your idea of the infraction change or the current?
Because now I can exactly check which post got me infracted with one to three words why.

 

Rather than a message, a notification would be better... I was -a bit- surprised to see an infraction without a message or notification. But Sythe doesn't have a notification system aside from PM's.

I don't see why you were surprised Alex_J_Leon, your post was unhelpful and not needed, which is spam.

 

im sorry shop i still dont know what i have done other than perhaps posted a to short message and it being labelled as spam... I know one of the infractions was because someone asked a stupid question and i was prolly a little to provo and therefore infraction was okay.

But the two last infractions ive recived since i joined this site last year i have no idea why i got them or the posts in questoin so to answer NO i do not know what i did...

But ive taken your responses into consideration and re-read the rules....

 

Just PM the mod and ask if you don't understand.

 

We do encourage moderators to send a short message when they issue an infraction but it's totally up to the individual whether they choose to or not.

Karl seems to have cleared up your issue with 'private' infractions, which is great.

If you have an issue with a particular infraction, don't hesitate to PM the moderator who issued it (but be polite, as always!)
