I'll try, you can edit/add as you want.

    1. Check the users vouches and the quality of them.
    2. Use a trusted MM or an OMM for trades if you feel it's necessary (OMMs and MMs can only ensure the trade happens safely, it doesn't mean you're completely safe (i.e. account recoveries, chargebacks, etc.)
    3. Check the MSN address carefully for imposters.
    4. Do a background check to see if they have a malicious background (scamming).
    5. Check his ranks; individuals with moderator, OMM, and/or high donator ranks will be very unlikely to scam you.
    6. Now, users having a high post count/join date doesn't necessarily mean you'll never get scammed, but it does lower the chance. But, be sure to check that he isn't shady, and that he doesn't spam for his post count.

Seems like a good start. Once we get the whole thing together some more I can try to edit in some stuff to point them to other common questions in the FAQ itself.

Note to anyone hesitant to help out. Look at this little guide: http://sythe.org/showpost.php?p=10471372&postcount=3

I ran a competition for that guide. Mr Sypherz won. Now he's a mod. Do you think its a coincidence that if you show you can think and communicate your thoughts while being noticed by the mods for helping out you are more likely to thought of as good mod material? Just sayin. * Shamelessly tries to get more people to help out*

Bumping is a term which refers to boosting a thread back onto the first page, to increase its chance of being noticed, typically used in the market section for instance.

Certainly, but you are limited to bumping a thread once every 8 hours, exceed this limit and a mod may give you an infraction.

These are called Legacy ranks, If you donated prior to July 2010, you have the ability to request your donator icon be reverted to the old format if you wish.

Here are some popular ones with their definitions, if i miss any please contact a mod to update the list:

    WTS - Want To Sell
    WTB - Want To Buy
TL : DR - Too Long, Didn't Read
    IMO - In My Opinion
    TBH - To Be Honest
    Vading/Vader - Ban Evading/Evader
    WU - Western Union
    PP - PayPal
    PA - PlayerAuctions
    RSGP - Runescape Gold Pieces

Members trade in many different currencies, however the most common and popular is USD, which is the recommend currency to use. If your using AUD/GBP for example it may be helpful to state in your thread how much what your trading for is worth in USD to simplify things.

Google has a fantastic tool you can use for this, say your currency is GBP and your seller/buyer is using USD, you can type it into google, here are some examples:

    20 GBP To USD
    15 USD To AUD
    40 EURO To GBP

How are these? I can think of plenty more if you want me to continue :D

    Trading Safely

Like any marketplace forum, scammers are a huge problem here on Sythe. Anyone could turn out to be a scammer, but there are certain ways to reduce your chances greatly of being scammed by anyone, and this goes for all websites, not just on Sythe.

You want to trade with people who have a lot to lose on Sythe, they're less likely to scam. When I say have a lot to lose, I mean when they contribute a lot to Sythe, and their Sythe account is worth more than the amount you're trading for. For example, a $100 donator is unlikely to scam under $100 because their Sythe account is worth* at least $100. Although it has happened many times in the past where high donators have scammed much less than their donation rank, so you should never go solely by this. Other examples of things that "add value to an account" so to speak is vouch count, post count, ranks, and general contributions to Sythe.

Members with high vouch counts are less likely to scam because vouches also add value to accounts. Being banned for scamming means you lose all of your vouches, which makes you lose all of your trust. Therefore it's not worth it for people with high vouch counts to scam members, although again, there are times where this happens.

The most safe way to complete a trade is to use common sense. You should make sure that you're talking to the user through MSN or Skype, and have them send you a private message with their MSN/Skype address in it. You want to verify that you're talking to the actual person, and not an impostor. The next step you should always do is to check the announcements to see if that member has been or is hacked, and then check the report a scammer section to see if there are any reports on said user. After all of these are checked, be sure to check their vouches, and follow a few of their high value ones to make sure they're legitimate. If you ever find a fake vouch, you should report said user so that no one else gets tricked by following for that.

Official middlemen or unofficial middlemen should always be used during trades. They will prevent any scams from happening during the course of the trade, and most will even do a bit of research on both of you too before starting, to make sure the person you're trading is not a scammer or ban evader. Most middlemen are free, but the most trusted ones usually charge a small fee. This fee is always worth it, as it prevents any scams from happening.

    * Please remember that Sythe accounts are not allowed to be traded or sold. When I say account value, I mean the value of the account to its' owner, not the true trade value, as that is against the rules.

Steps to Trade Safely (in case my other one was too long and you want it more like in steps instead of paragraphs)

There are many steps to trading safely on Sythe. Here's a list of what you should do for every trade.

    1. Add the person you're trading on MSN or Skype, it's an easy way to communicate and screenshots are easy to take on it if anything does go wrong.
    2. Make sure the person sends you a private message on Sythe stating their MSN or Skype address. Compare this with the account you're talking to, and make sure that it matches up.
    3. Check the users' vouch thread, and make sure they're all real. Click the arrow in the quote to go to the spot where it was posted, and make sure it hasn't been edited by the user you're trading with. If you catch a fake vouch, you should always report it to prevent anyone else from falling for that mistake.
    4. Head on over to the report a scammer section, and make sure that there are no active disputes (or even archived ones) against the user.
    5. Visit the middleman section, and find a middleman that's online to complete the trade with. You never want to go first unless the user's extremely reputable/trusted, and you never want to go second so you're not tempted to scam them at all. It's always best to use a middleman.
    6. The middleman will help you safely complete the trade, and then you're all done.

    Abbreviations commonly used on Sythe

    B& - Banned
    DNS - Do Not Suggest
    IMO - In My Opinion
    MM - Middleman
    MS - Microsoft
    MSP - Microsoft Points
    OMM - Official Middleman
    PA - PlayerAuctions
    PP - PayPal
    RSGP - Runescape Gold Points
    SF - Spam Forum
    SRB - Self Requested Ban
    TBH - To Be Honest
    TL;DR - Too Long; Didn't Read
    TWC - Trade with Caution
    Vader - Ban Evader
    WTB - Want to Buy
    WTS - Want to Sell
    WU - Western Union
    XBL - Xbox Live

    Payment Methods

Being such a large site, and with so many options to pay for stuff now over the internet, the payment methods that you can use on Sythe are endless. This is a quick overview of some of the most used payment methods.

    Paypal (PP)

Paypal is a fantastic and quick way to pay for stuff. Since it can be linked directly to your bank account or credit card, you can pay with it much easier than typing your credit card details all the time. However, you need to be careful using Paypal. The main draw-back of it is that you can charge back your payments in minutes, no matter how you send it through Paypal. Either dispute it with them, or you can go straight to your bank and ask them to do it if it went through your credit card. It's not recommended to use it.

    Western Union (WU)

Western Union is a tedious, but completely safe method to transfer money. It's only useful during large trades, because they charge a 10-12% fee, and if it's below a certain amount, the fee is a flat $10+. However, it's completely safe, and once you have the money in your hands it can't be charged back if you pick it up from the store.

    PlayerAuctions (PA)

PlayerAuctions serves as a middleman. You can pay other members through it with your credit card, money order, and a various amount of other methods, and they keep the trade fair and prevent charge backs. It's growing more and more popular as the site itself becomes more known around the Sythe community.

Google Checkout (GC) - thanks to Semper

Google Checkout is a great payment option for any business. Google Checkout is a great payment method for the average Joe, because Google Checkout directly accepts Credit Cards, making payment very easy on the buyer's end. It's not as recommended to use Google Checkout for a single operated "one time sale" business, due to the ability to charge back the payment.

MoneyBookers/Skrill (MB) - thanks to Semper

MoneyBookers is a great, easy payment method to use. It's very similar to PayPal. The main difference is that on MoneyBookers, it is VERY hard to charge back a payment. With this payment option, you can pay directly from your Bank Account and/or Credit Card, as long as one or both are linked to your MoneyBooker's account.

    Runescape Gold (RSGP)

Runescape gold or items can be traded in exchange for other goods or services. It's extremely secure as it can never be charged back when traded over, but there's always a risk of real-world trading bans from Jagex themselves, or the price of gold dropping and you ultimately lose money in the end.

    Sythe Ranks

Sythe, being a large forum, has many ranks. It's often confusing to memorize all of the ranks and remember who has which, and what they all mean. This will be a spot to check what a certain rank is for. I will group similar ranks together and explain what they mean.

    Staff Ranks

Administrator - The administrator of the forums, they rule over all moderators and staff. They have more responsibility than any other staff rank, and keep the website secure and safe for the users, as well as basic moderation responsibilities.

Global Moderator - A moderator that has responsibility over every section on the forum. They have less responsibilities than administrators do, but more than the normal moderators. They're responsible for making sure that moderators do their job properly, users behave, and basic moderation responsibilities.

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG][IMG]
Sectional Moderator - A sectional moderator has their own section to look after. Their job is to keep spam out, and keep their section clean.

    Ex-Staff Ranks

Ex-Administrator - Someone who used to be an administrator but had to step down for whatever reason.

Ex-Moderator - Someone who used to be a moderator but had to step down for whatever reason.

    Extremely Trusted Ranks

Head of Donations - This person (normally an administrator) is in charge of all site donations, and control who can donate and who can't.

Highly Respected - This person is deemed highly respected by Sythe himself, the owner of Sythe.org.

Highly Trusted - This person is deemed highly trusted by Sythe himself, the owner of Sythe.org.

Head Middleman - This person is in charge of all other middlemen. It is his/her job to appoint new official middlemen, and to get rid of inactive ones.

    Donation Ranks

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Donator - They've donated the amount of money to Sythe as their rank shows.

    Cautionary Ranks

Self Requested Ban - You should never trade with anyone with a self-requested ban. They requested it either because they've been hacked, or because they're away and don't want their account to be used.

Trade with Caution - This user has done something that makes them seem suspicious, but there's not enough evidence for a ban.

Temporarily Banned - This user has been banned temporarily for whatever reason.

Banned - This user has been permanently banned for whatever reason.

I've decided to keep the old post of mine just for reference, so please excuse my double post. After talking to SuF I realized he wanted them in question/answer form, so I'll do that here.

    Q. What payment methods are accepted on Sythe?
    A. It completely depends on the person that you're trading with. You can use any (legal) payment that you can think of. Examples of the most popular payment methods include Runescape gold/items, Paypal, PlayerAuctions, Western Union, Google Checkout, Moneybookers, and many more.

    Q. How do I prevent myself from getting scammed?
    A. To prevent yourself from getting scammed you should always research the person you're trading with. You want to check if they have a good, clean history on Sythe, and make sure they have good vouches and completed trades. Once you've researched your trader, it's still always a good idea to use a middleman to prevent temptation of scamming on either side of the trade.

    Q. What are vouches?
    A. Vouches are recommendations from other users about a specific person. After a trade, vouches are normally given stating the trade amount and trade type, to show how much that person was trusted with. The more vouches a person has, the more trusted they are.

    Q. Are vouches like reputation from other forums?
    A. Yes, a perfect definition of a vouch on Sythe is like reputation on other forums. However, unlike other forums, vouches are strictly regulated, and have many rules in effect to prevent fake vouching. Vouches may only be given if a trade actually happened.

    Q. Can I buy vouches for instant trust?
    A. Buying or selling vouches is against the rules, and you'll receive a permanent ban for doing it. After you're banned on Sythe, you're not allowed to return on other accounts unlike other forums.

    Q. What is ban evading/vading?
    A. When you're banned on Sythe, you're not allowed to return until your ban is up. Creating another account to avoid the ban is called ban evading, and it's not allowed.

    Q. I've been scammed by someone, what should I do?
    A. You should take screenshots or a video of the entire trade, and then create a post in the report a scammer section to report the user. If there's enough evidence, they will be banned and will have to pay you back to return to Sythe.

    More to come.

    Q. Is there any risk with buying Runescape accounts?
    A. Yes, Runescape accounts can generally always be recovered by the original owner. It's never a good idea to buy one from someone whom you don't trust, even using a middleman.

    Q. Which payment methods are safest for sellers?
    A. The safest payment methods are any that can't be charged back, such as Runescape gold/items, Western Union, or mail. Although they all take slightly more time and have greater fees.

    Q. Sythe is a great forum, how can I donate to it?
    A. You can donate to Sythe by finding a donation service in the Runescape Buying Gold section. People who run these donation services have sent money to the administrators through mail, and your donation pays them back (a bond). After around 24 hours of donating, you will receive all of your perks and your rank.

    Q. What are the perks of donating?
    A. The perks of donating vary based on how much you donate. You can view a full list of perks in the donation center.

    Q. What's the difference between administrators, global moderators, and sectional moderators?
    A. Sectional moderators have their own section to moderate. They have to keep it clean from spam, and organized. They're also in charge of looking at scam reports and banning scammers. Global moderators share all of these responsibilities, but they're in charge of sectional moderators, and can moderate in any section on Sythe. Administrators are the next step up from global moderators, they run the site.

    Q. If I'm scammed, will I get compensation from Sythe?
    A. No, you're required to partake in safe trading practices to avoid being scammed. The most that the Sythe staff can do is ban the user if you present enough proof, and they'll need to pay you back to ever be unbanned.

    Q. How big can my Sythe avatar be?
    A. The maximum size for an avatar is 80px by 80px (width by height). However, by donating to Sythe you can use an avatar

    Q. How do I change the text under my username?
    A. Your user title can not be changed unless you donate over $50 to Sythe. Once you've donated that much, you can change it to whatever you want as long as it's approved by the moderators.

    RE: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=11320269#post11320269

    Q. What's an unofficial middleman?
    A. An unofficial middleman is anyone who wants to middleman trades. They can just create a thread in the middleman forum, and if you deem them trusted enough then you can use them for your trades.

    Q. What's an official middleman?
    A. An official middleman is a middleman who went through a rigorous process to receive their rank. They completed many trades, and have been proven to be extremely trustworthy.

    Q. Someone is spamming on my sale, what do I do?
    A. Click the report a post icon to the top right of their post (it's a yellow triangle with a black exclamation point in it). The moderators will receive your report and take action against the user.

    Q. What is an impostor?
    A. An impostor is someone who pretends to be someone trusted from Sythe on MSN/Skype but really is not. They often use a similar address as the person they're impostering, but it's never exactly the same. You should always ask for a private message to confirm they are who they say they are.

    Q. What is a self-requested ban?
    A. A self requested ban is a ban that someone has requested be placed on their own account. It's normally due to their account being hacked, or as a safety pre-caution. It can also be done when you go away on vacation or stop using Sythe, so that no one can use your account for malicious purposes.

    Q. What is a trade with caution?
    A. If someone does something that seems fishy to the moderators, but there's not enough proof to ban them, then they're often times issued a trade with caution rank. This rank just lets everyone know that you should take extremely caution when trading this user.

    Q. My account was hacked, what should I do?
    A. You should post in the dispute a ban section and let the moderators know. They will try to get to it immedietely and ban your account before it can scam anyone. Once you think your computer is clean of any viruses, then you can post another dispute to get your account back.

    Q. Someone hacked my account and used it to scam, now it's banned. Can I get it back?
    A. You will have to pay back all of the people who were scammed on your account before you'll get it back. Your Sythe account is your responsibility, and you need to keep it secure at all times.

    Q. Can I bump my thread if it's no longer at the top of the list?
    A. You can, but you must wait 8 hours. All posts by you in your thread must either be in over 8 hour intervals, or be a direct response to a post in your thread.

    Q. Do I need to post a picture in my sale thread?
    A. Only certain sections require it, but it would be beneficial for you to do it in every section. That way others can see exactly what it is you're selling, and have proof that you own it.

    Q. Do I have to use Skype or MSN to talk to a trader?
    A. No, you can use any chat client you want. You can even text them, or facebook, it's coompletely up to you. But you should always get a private message from them to verify their information.

    Q. How do I include images in my posts, instead of just links to the images?
    A. You need to wrap the image link in image tags. You can use [omg]link to the image[/omg], but replace the O's with I's (img not omg). This will display the picture in your thread.

    Q. There are ranks like pirate, angelic, programmer, what do these all mean?
    A. They're all fun ranks, and they're all acquired different ways. Some are handed out for completing competitions, others for doing good as a staff member, and the ones like programming you need to prove you can code in a certain language and you could be awarded with one.

    Q. Why don't I have a big variety of post icons?
    A. Normal members don't get many post icons. If you donate, then you receive a lot more. Moderators and administrators also have some of their own to make their threads stand out from the crowd.

Figure I'll take a little break. But this is what I have so far (as well as my other post). I'm running out of stuff to write questions for. :p

How to trade Safety on Sythe without being scammed?

Sythe.org has a very popular reputation when it comes to the gaming black market. Sites who offer Black markets are open to all kinds of scams. Sythe.org has a way in way we can offer scam free trades, when dealing with anyone. To ensure this, we use what we call Official Middleman, or OMM for short.

All our OMM's have been checked and tested to ensure you will provide a scam free service, some have traded over $100,000 here on Sythe.org

    etc. etc.

Tell me if I should write more or no.

I want the rank of "Useless Dildo" if I win.

    How to: Reduce getting scammed!

Always use a OMM (Official MiddleMan) or a MM (Not official but generally still trusted).
You can find a list of OMM's here; http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1302647
    Non-OMM's here; http://sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=307

Once you find a OMM/MM you deem fit for the trade send him a friend request on his listed contact preference. Once he has added you make sure you REQUEST A SYTHE PM!

Do a background check on the seller/buyer.
    • Check vouches
    • Check MSN
    • Check email

A quick run through of this, as a MM i do extensive background checks on the people i am MMing for. If you're BUYING a RuneScape account, ask for the contact email registered to the account, don't tell them just to switch it -ASK- most scammers change their MSN and possibly IP address but lots forget to change their actual email registered account.

Some of you might ask "how do i run a background check on his account?" Easy, all you have to do is copy it > go to Google.com > Advance search > in the "Exact words/phrase" paste the users email and or MSN > any domain > any date.

I can not stress enough to get the original email on the account and search it, 90% of the people i get banned forget to change the actual email but remember to change the MSN.

    Moving on to PayPal payments.

Any PayPal payment can be charged back, to decrease the chances of this happening make sure the buyer/seller sends the money as a gift with the attached note "I NameHere hereby declare that i am aware i am purchasing ItemHere from the provider YourNameHere. I forfeit all all rights charging back my money by which i am satisfied with the trade".

Now, if you're trading for a RuneScape account it's a 50/50 risk, you can either do or alter this.

If you follow these quick notes i promise you that you will reduce the chance of being scammed.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Side note, i realize other people have submitted this already, i however, did not see anyone incorporate the MUST of getting the original email from whatever account they are buying, i.e gmail, yahoo, etc, which is one of the main things scammers forget to change.

This is my attempt. I've included some things mentioned in the thread currently and re-written some parts to be more user friendly and added my own input.

    How do I Contact Sythe.org

Scroll to the bottom of sythe's main page found here.
It will look like this [IMG]
Click the "Contact Us" that has been circled in red to be re-directed to another screen where you are able to email sythe.org using your email that is registered to the site.

How do I Contact an Administrator or Moderator?

http://www.sythe.org/showgroups.php Is a list of the the moderators and administrators on the site. Find the one you wish to contact and select the [IMG] image to be redirected to a screen where you can private message them.

How do I contact sythe regarding advertising

Scroll to the bottom of sythe's main page found here.
It will look like this [IMG]
Click the "Contact Us" that has been circled in red to be re-directed to another screen where you are able to email sythe.org using your email that is registered to the site.

An alternative to this is to send Sythe himself a PM here.

    1) What are 'vouches'?

I don't think I can add anything else to Wulfspade's contribution.

    2) RuneScape Gen FAQ: How do I recover my runescape account without an email?

Lilly nailed this one, however this doesn't really relate to a sythe FAQ. It would be nice to see in a sticky in RS2 General however.

An addition to it would be: You can also get in contact with Jagex through Twitter and Facebook to help speed up recovery.

    3) I'm new to the forums, is the spam forum a good place to hang out?

The spam forum is a great place for people who like to joke around constantly. This can be a great place to kindle relationships if you're a cool person to talk to. You should probably get used to the forums a little bit prior to visiting however.

    4) How to pronounce 'Sythe'.

Irrelevant but whatever. Darn you Alma Mater
    Wulfspade nailed this one.

    5) How do I request my thread to be moved or locked?

Private Message a Moderator that has jurisdiction over the section where your thread is located. For example if your thread is in the Runescape Market, PM a Market Moderator. Alternatively you can Private Message a Global Moderator who can do this regardless where the thread is located. Please refrain from Private Messaging Administrators regarding such things, they are busy improving the site. http://www.sythe.org/showgroups.php Is a list of the the moderators and administrators on the site. Find the one you wish to contact and select the [IMG] image to be redirected to a screen where you can private message them.

Alternatively you can go to the thread or post you want altered and click the [IMG] image that is in the top right hand corner of it. In the screen you are re-directed to, write what you want to occur to the thread or post.

    6) What is "LiveHelp?"

Live Help is a place where you can IM moderators who operate it regarding any troubles you are having on the site, etc. Be advised though, do not rely on Live Help as it is not always online. If you need to get in contact with a moderator but none are in Live Help look here and any users with a [IMG] next to their name means they are currently online. Click the [IMG] image to be redirected to a screen where you can private message them.

    7) What's an OMM / MM? What's the difference between the two?

    Has been said already.

    8) How to embed youtube videos?

http://sythe.org/misc.php?do=bbcode Is a link that shows a basic rendition of how to embed youtube videos. It states: [ youtube]Value[/youtube] however people struggle with what value should be placed in. I will demonstrate through an example. If our desired youtube clip we wanted to embed was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmVwh4aqr94 we will select all of the text after the = sign, so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmVwh4aqr94. Wrap this in

    9) How do I try safely?

    Do you mean trade safely?

Dialatic nailed it but since you wanted a condensed version I'll take a go.

    1. Get into contact with the other party you are trading with via posting or private messaging them and leaving contact details.
    2. Once they have contacted you, unless you added them specifically ask for a private message on sythe to confirm it is them.
    3. If all goes well so far, decide how the trade will proceed - Who will go first or to use a Middleman. Do this by asking for their vouches. Quality of the vouches is as important as quantity. There could be 50 $1 trades, this does not mean they are trustworthy with more than $1! If you decide to use a Middleman you can find one here.
    4. If you are going first or using a Middleman, make sure to take pictures of key parts of the trade that you will be able to use to report them as a scammer if need be. A full list of what is required can be found here. The best way for people who are new to this is to simply video the trade. There are a multitude of free screen recorders available such as Hypercam.

    My rewritten version:

Name changes are not allowed regardless of how minor it is such as removing a capitalization. The only exception to this rule is if a user is promoted to staff and their name is unprofessional, we may allow them to alter it slightly to something more respectable, for example if you had a few numbers after your name such as "Superman123321" it can be shortened to "Superman". If their existing name is sufficiently professional then they will not be permitted a name change. Name changes are not a donor perk either, you can find a list of what perks donors have here. Asking staff members for a name change in violation of these rules may result in an infraction.?wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

LiveHelp is something that has newly introduced to Sythe, and it allows you to gain help, easily and quick.

LiveHelp should be used if one is confused with something related to the site.

This should not be used to report a scammer. If you have been scammed, please use the "report a scammer" section, of which I'll link below.

    http://sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=253

    How can I use livehelp?

Livehelp is located at the top of the website, if you follow down where your username for the website goes, you will see it. However, livehelp cannot be used when it states "OFFLINE" below "LIVEHELP". You must either use the contact us which is located at the bottom of the site, or wait for someone to come online.

    When can I use LiveHelp?

Livehelp can be used if you need to know something about the website, but please always make sure to check all of the FAQ's first. For example, if you were wanting to know if the advertisements on the website were safe, that would be a valid reason to use LiveHelp.

Another reason to use LiveHelp is if you have posted in the wrong section, and you need it moved, or you need a thread closed.

Reporting a post should not be used via LiveHelp, as there is an exclamation mark if you look at the top of the post and to the right.

    8) How to embed youtube videos?

    Use a code
    PHP:
    [youtube][/youtube]
and between the tags enter the id of your video, for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oct_W3DDZ28&feature=g-all-lik the id of this video is Oct_W3DDZ28 (it is between = and &).

How do I upload a .gif picture as my avatar?

Go to http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=11321702#post11321702 and post a link of your avatar. Within a short period of time, your avatar will be uploaded to your account.

    Some of my created questions/answers:

If I receive money via Paypal gift option, does it mean I am safe?
No, the account you receive money from can be stolen, or a sender can fake that his account was stolen. So if it is a member without many vouches - be cautious.

If I buy RuneScape account from someone, can it be recovered even if I add my email?
Yes and no. No if Jagex thinks that the person who sold the account is not the original owner or does not have enough information to claim the account back. Yes if Jagex gives an opportunity for the seller to manualy recover the account and he succeeds. But if you have the same information you can do the same to claim it back.

Can money be charged back via MoneyBookers?
No, unless MoneyBookers has a real proof that your account has been stolen, but this does not happen often. Also, usually if the police is not involved the money are not being charged back.

I have been asked to show my gold/account via Teamviewer. I will not let the buyer to control the mouse, am I safe?
No, there are certain scripts that can get around this. So don't show any of these via teamviewer to a non-staff member. Just show the gold via trade window and that will be enough.

I send a Private Message to Administrator, but don't get a response, why?
Administrators are very busy and get many messages everyday. Always contact moderators, unless it is a very important enquiry.

I have been contacted by a member who wants to make a trade, how do I know that it is really him?
Check is that really his messenger account and request a private messenge on Sythe with a copy of your chat.

How can I bump my thread?
Simply post BUMP (make sure your last message was posted more than 8 hours ago). Or to make your thread look better, you can simply delete your last message and post it again (8 hours rule still apply). Just click Edit in your last message (copy if you want to repost it), then click Delete and post it again.

I want to make a Donation and get a rank, what should I do?
Simply go to a Donation Center
    http://sythe.org/donations/

Can I buy gold from one of the shops which are adverted on Sythe? Will I not get scammed?
No, you won't. Only trusted gold shops are advertised here.

    Q. What's the maximum signature size I can have on Sythe?
    A. Your signature can be a maximum of 650 pixels wide by 350 pixels tall (please correct me if this is wrong).

    Q. Is post count a good indication of trust?
    A. No, you should never use post count as an indication of trust. Posts are easy to make, and many scammers often spam the forum to get their post count up before scamming.

    Q. I want to get a [email protected] e-mail address, is this possible?
    A. No, it's not available. You have to make your own e-mail address.

    Q. I only have chat logs as proof of a trade, but the guy scammed me, is this evidence to get him banned?
    A. Chat logs are not valid proof. They can easily be edited in any program (such as notepad). The only valid proof is actual screenshots/videos of the real chat.

    Q. Aren't moderators and middlemen kind of the same thing?
    A. No, moderators are not middlemen unless they have that rank. They have to go through the rigorous process that official middlemen have to go through if they want that rank as well.

    Q. Is Skype screen share safe to use to prove I have something?
    A. Yes, since people can not actually connect to your computer through screen share, it's completely safe.

    Q. Is Teamviewer or MSN Remote Assistance safe to use to prove I have something?
    A. No, unless you change the settings to view only, the person connected will be able to take control of your computer and/or leave viruses on it.

    Q. What can I do to remove the advertisements from the top of the site?
    A. There's currently no way to remove the advertisements. They show up there for everyone.

    Q. What is a legacy rank?
    A. A legacy rank is a donator rank for any donator who donated before a certain time.

    Q. Why are some donator ranks different than the others?
    A. After you donate $300 you can make your own donator rank. You pick the custom icons to go on both sides of the coin stack.

Click here to see my entire list. I'm still working on more...

    Q. What are the post ranks?
    A. Here is a list of the current Posting Ranks:
    0 - 24 = Newcomer
    25 - 99 = Member
    100 - 249 = Active Member
    250 - 624 = Forum Addict
    625 - 999 = Apprentice
    1000 - 1999 = Guru
    2000 - 4999 = Grand Master
    5000 - 9999 = Hero
    10000+ = Legend

    Q. I am a newcomer, how come lots of people don't seem to want to trade with me?
    A. Newcomers with little vouches/post count/activity unfortunately have a bad reputation when it comes to trading here on Sythe, many members may be very cautious when trading with you.

But rest assured you can hire an Middleman/Official Middleman to help with your trades until you get a better reputation on your account. Or if the person you are trading with have an exceptional reputation, high vouches/post count/activity/ranks, you could choose to go first in the trade at your discretion.

    Q. How do i create my own vouch thread?
    A. You can create a vouch thread here: http://sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=518

Please bare in mind you can only have one vouch thread, and it does not need bumping.

    Q. What are the dimensions for a Donator's Avatar?
    A. A donator's avatar can be a maximum of 150 pixels width - 100 pixels height.

    Q. What are the dimensions for Sythe Avatars?
    A. A standard user can upload an avatar with maximum dimensions of 80 pixels width - 80 pixels height.
