    Will there ever be a....?

We will probably see a woman in office first, considering there are many female senators or representatives, individuals like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and Hillary Clinton are examples of this. I know there are some Atheists and LBGT members in politics and/or law. Even though the amount of non-religious individuals increased, there are still many religious individuals. I don't think we'll see an Atheist and a Homosexual soon, but I do believe it will happen someday, I think more people will be open-minded.

    Relevant:
List of the first LGBT holders of political offices.
List of atheists in politics and law.

I wouldn't say "never," it's unlikely we'll see any in the near future, but I wouldn't be surprised if there will be an Atheist or Homosexual in office someday.

The likelyhood that we'll have an Athiest or a Homosexual as president is the same as the chance that the national anthem will change which is never.

"One nation under God" if a canidate can't say these words he's not going to be elected as president.

Same applies towards a homosexual, homosexuality is wrong in so many religions, no one would support him/her. Religious Americans are the majority, atheists and homosexuals, especially one individual doesn't stand a chance.

I'm going to say this because it's true. There will never be a woman's president ever.

Edit: Back up your posts with facts.

As long as there is one candidate running that is a male with a good run, don't really see a woman winning because it's america.

The pledge of allegiance was first recited on October 12, 1892. I think a lot has changed from that time. A long time ago, a black president would be considered what Athiest/LGBT presidents are thought of now. But, Obama's on verge of being president again. I know a lot of Christian's who believe in love for all, including homosexuals/atheists, just because you're religious doesn't mean that you're going to hate on homosexuals/atheists. But, I know a lot of religious individuals who do not favor atheism/homosexuality, and I know religious Americans are the majority. But, that is why I'm saying there will probably be an Athiest/Homosexual president someday, not soon. For example, if you'd have said there is going to be a black president in 1892, a lot of people would have disagreed. I think the future will have more open-minded/non-religious individuals, and I do believe we will have a president that is atheist and/or homosexual someday.

A female doesn't have the ability to do the same job, or better? As I see it a woman would have been better than our last two presidents.

No where in the pledge of alliance does it mention a woman nor a black, easier to rule around that. Christians, etc, will not accept someone as our president who cant respect the bible and follow its "guidelines". Americans won't stand for that, most people regret having a black president now and certainly won't go for a non-god believing homosexual.

I think that there will certainly be a woman president, probably in my lifetime as well. Same with atheist, I think the president's policies would matter more than their religion.

But for a gay president, maybe it has already happened :p

You really think so? Of course you would.

Changing what you thought you could isn't that simple and a female wouldn't be able to do what obama has done in his time as president.

I wrote more besides the pledge of allegiance part in my post. Like I said, regardless of some Christians/religious individuals not in favor of athiesm/homosexuality, I know of some Christians/religious individuals who do believe in love for everyone including atheists/homosexuals. Also, a Gallup poll shows that a majority of Americans would vote for an atheist for president, 54% of those who were questioned said they would vote a "well-qualified" candidate who was atheist for president, which is the highest percentage since Gallup asked the question in 1958, where only 18% of them said they would support an atheist. So, this is what I'm saying, I believe there will be more open-minded people eventually leading to an Atheist in office, then a homosexual.

Wouldn't this depend on what the population's opinion on each demographic is at the time of the elections?

Probably so, since this world is so divided as it is.

I'm sure one day there will be a president that will be voted for based solely on their gender or religious/sexual prowess... Oh wait, who in da office now!

Maybe one day we can look for more important values in people, and maybe one day we can learn not to bring those sort of principles in politics. After all, it's the politicians as well that are spewing out all of this gay/black/discriminating shit and persuading this nation to believe that it's all important, essentially just fueling the fire if you will.

You know who would make a good president? One that doesn't support for or against any of that bullshit, one that doesn't even bring it up in conversation. Worry about other stuff, not whether or not people can legally experiment/suck each other off and get married.

How not? Instead of your sexist and bias opinion try posting something meaning full.

You're basing an opioniated poll developed and answered by a selected few. The answer is easy, when word came up about Obama being a Muslim there was an uproar, a non-believing candidate would be hazed and scrutinized just as bad.

Woman, Atheist, and Gay is the order of the probability of becoming president from greatest to least. Reason why I say woman is because it could happen with Hilary Clinton and because over the past half century, woman have gained a lot of rights. The reason why I say gay as least is because it is very frowned upon in the United States. An example of this would be the whole Chic-Fil-A fiasco that occurred a couple of weeks ago.

I would say an Atheist would come first, but there's really no way to be sure.

I don't understand why you're disregarding the poll because you think it's answered by a "select few," how do you know this? The poll proves that we change as a society, and that we'll have more open-minded individuals in the future. You personally stated that a woman would do better than Obama. In the past, having a president that's female would be as ridiculous as having a president that's Muslim. Now, having a woman as our president isn't something that is far-fetched, we change as a society, and I'm sure we'll have more acceptant individuals someday.

There will probably be a woman president in the near future, just look how close Hillary Clinton got. As for gay and athiest president, I wouldn't say never, but maybe in 60 years or so. Polls are showing that the public opinion is turning to be much more accepting of LGBT, but not so much athiesm haha
