    False advertising.

False advertising on gold selling threads.

I have been looking at buying gold and its really starting to piss me off when a thread says

    Example:
So you add them then start talking and they say no the best we can do is 50c for any order. Its very time wasting, confusing and frustrating when you got to the trouble and spend hours looking for a trusted seller just for them to lie about there gold prices to make them selves look better, over any other threads.

This also the issue when I title says "Selling gold 40c/M" then you click thread and it says 55c/M.

    Opinions?

We'll probably see some gold sellers posting stuff about "the market is fluctating", but they are looking at their thread multiple times a day so it wouldn't take long to update it. This has annoyed me aswell when selling rsgp and they are offering 10 cents less than listed on their thread.

    So... what's the suggestion?

I do agree that this might be frustrating, but there really isn't much anyone can do about this. It is possible that a seller just hasn't gotten around to editing their thread yet. It is even more likely that the title may be outdated because users cannot change titles at will.

I have run into this as well and its complete and total bullshit. These people should be infracted for this garbage, if at all most of them EVER sell at their advertised rates it is highly situational (only 500+m to "trusted" people via some other website if at all) most of the gold sellers threads are extremely outdated and the whole process is extremely frustrating. FULL support on this one, surprised other people brought this up sooner.

If they refuse to give you the amount listed on their thread just take a screeny of the MSN and report them and a moderator will tell them to change it. They should be able to keep their price updated in their thread. It doesn't take long and they can do it themselves (unlike for titles).

I think most sellers arent falsely advertising its just a marketing scheme, like most people will put their bulk price in the title "As low as .40/mil" and thats only for like 1-2b+ purchases, It happens in real life all the time.

Unless none of their prices match i think thats where the thread op should be infracted

You may be right about changing the thread, but the title actually times some time for a mod to get to.

    False advertising.

It is indeed frustrating that people do this to lure people to their thread
This problem might be solved by giving players just like facebook a
like or dislike on their thread?

    False advertising.

If you're referring to something such as forum rep, for instance the ability to give positive or negative rep for a good thread or response; I believe it would be misused, for example friends giving rep to friends. It wouldn't be practical.

@Synful, it's something we have to deal with, I agree, the titles are completely advertised falsely but thats what gets people to look at the threads.

More often than not, the prices don't match. Look at Graves thread. He advertises 35c, yet I tried buying 2b and the best price offered was .50c. It's false advertising and should definitely result in some sort of infringement penalty.
