It's tough for newcomers

I'm new to sythe, i signed up to sell and am having trouble with doing so. I think vouching is a good method of trust when trading but it seems that no one will sell to me unless i go first. Now, i understand why this is, but it means i will have to risk being scammed to just sell on here? In fact maybe be scammed numerous times before i can get a deal done. Obviously many scams happen daily on here, making anything i say worthless, but i am a genuine seller wanting cash for my items. But i'm not willing to risk getting scammed because i'm not reputable yet. How can i gain a reputation if no one will do business with me?

 

Use a middleman to elimate the need for anyone to go first. Make sure to check msn's, and to receive a PM.

 

How do they work, do they cost?

Basically all information and payments involved go through a neutral party and they then verify all details are correct and then forward the payments/information to the sellers and buyers. Most middlemen are free, and we do have a selection of pre-approved middlemen for you to choose from. Our 'official middlemen' have passed a rigorous test to prove their trustworthiness.

Do free services. If you play Runescape, you can quest or skill for others. Vouches come in slowly but surely. Just be patient, you'll get a customer who will go first to you, and you will get 1 vouch then and then others will follow seeing that vouch, etc.

 

I'll be patient, had 3 customers though all demanding i go first or no deal though

 

This right here is exactly why a Newcomer rank exists. It is a great tool for higher post count members, such as myself, to realize that you are probably ignorant to many things and signals us to help out if possible.

Don't be discouraged. We all start out that way. Time will help and try to get your name out there. Post around and participate with the community. People will see you post and know you more and that'll help.

No one cares about vouches for free services, if you are serious donate a decent amount (50$+) and people will trust you for trades up to that amount to go first generally.

 

Look in the middleman section of the Market to find reputable middlemens. Do not take up anyone to middlemen who are not trusted like you are. Look in there and choose carefully. PM me with your choice of MM so I can double-check if you want.

Also, just to make it clear in your post, If you haven't, say not willing to go first, but will use a middle-man unless trusted. Trusted meaning high vouch count/ $50-$100 donator or your own discretion on it.

I wouldn't put my year of birth in my name lol, especially if you are from '97. I started with selling RSGP and some cheap accounts and build my trust up from there. Nearly a year on Sythe now, or actually a year now, time to check it. EDIT: 8 more days apparantly.

 

Yea, use a middleman until you have gotten enough vouches I guess. Or go first to trusted people, most people you trade with should give you a vouch.

Trade with highly trusted members, that's the best way to avoid getting scammed.
