This is pretty much a free post for people every 8 hours.

There are multiple threads that have over 200 posts by the same person they pretty much have no intention of selling the account/names

If anybody has some feedback on how we can fix this please post below.

I thinks it very unfai people like jeff have made well over 1500 posts just in bumps.

 

I agree. We need to do something about it. It's getting pretty damn ridiculous at this point.

EDIT: I also do not agree with just locking thread because the user still keeps there posts. They need to be deleted.

 

I suggest we make a rule where if you were to make 3 consecutive bumps, you would have to delete at least your previous bump or get infracted for it and then required to clean the bumps up yourself. I don't see how else it will work as no mod would be willing to to clean it up.

 

I thought deleting bumps yourself was against the rules? Due to people abusing it and doing it every 1 - 2 hours..

 

It would make sense that you are allowed to delete bumps from dating back a few days. I believe you are anyways. What you aren't allowed to do is bump, delete that bump a few hours before 8hrs and then bump again which is called delete bump or something.

I suggest that if 3 bumps were made, the 1 first one be deleted leaving 2 behind, etc.

 

It is against the rules to delete a bump and bump again within the 8 hours.
However I see no need to delete their bumps, all the information needed is on their origional starting post so you have no need to look at other posts.
As for post count.. It would take someone nearly a year to get 1000 posts if they stay within the 8 hour rule and post every 8 hours on the dot.

 

But its not one thread some people have 6, 7 and even 8 Threads there bumping...

 

Its how the forums just work lol theres no way to really change it :l Everyone bumps their threads

 

The only way to fix this would be to make a bumping system I guess. (Every 8hours you can click on a link or whatever and it would bump your thread, without adding a post)

Anyways, you could technically delete your previous bump post and then just make a new post when the 8 hours has passed. That way, people don't get free post count, however I think it's up to the users themselves if they want to do that.

He needs to remove the advertisement for the name in Other Accounts: 3-59. (The lack of other posts in these threads are understandable; I'm sure he gets several PMs a day [but not posts] requesting his name list.)

The rest of the threads in reference were fine; they were admittedly an account that would be hard to sell (either due to the OP's lack of trust, or due to the account's lack of demand). I don't think that those particular OPs are really dumb enough to "farm" 3 posts a day when most of them have been known to be on for hours at a time, posting in the market as well as in discussion forums.

The only fair way to fix this is to implement a bump button, which is infeasible in this VB but I doubt will be ignored when the site gets updated. For now, it's nothing to complain about in my opinion.

 

It is up to the moderators discrepancy. If you see a thread with like 4 pages of bumps with nothing else but the OP, I would report it to be honest.

What I would do is I would just delete the 40 "bump" posts but keep the original post and maybe 1 or 2 bumps as well as a friendly reminder that they don't need to constantly bump their thread.

Also im pretty sure an automatic bumper is in the do not suggest list but I could be wrong.

 

They aren't breaking any rules. I'm sure you're right though, vaders probably make multiple service/sale threads in multiple forums and bump every 8 hours to rack up post count; but what can you do?

 

I've taken the liberty of clearing a few of those threads. Account sale threads that have been up for 4+ months with nothing but bumps by the OP are obviously never going to sell and/or are just a farming place for post count. I agree with the OP on this and have addressed the linked threads. I do agree with blupig in his response to the report mentioned though. It is a pain in the ass cleaning them but I feel it's for the better in the long run.
