Male Nurse

Yep, I'm studying to be a male nurse. Sounds gay, but my job will include helping people and will be very stable with a nice income.

I know that it sounds gay, but it's a pretty decent job.
I wont be slapping and rubbing your ass for a shot, I'll probably be handling patients in mental hospitals ($kaCHING$,) supervising work in hospitals or helping injured soldiers in the battlefield if I go mercenary.

So how are male nurses viewed in your country, specifically your area?

 

Many people call male nurses "gay" and such but I don't really understand why. It's also pretty funny how most people make fun of male nurses would never be able to become one.

 

It's not "gay". We have lots of male nurses staffed at our hospital and more people respect them then they do us. Good luck and if you ever need any help with classes or have questions let me know.

 

Well, it's stereotypical a woman's job because there are a lot more female nurses than male nurses haha

There's nothing wrong with being a male nurse. The more staffing within a hospital, or even a walk in clinic, the better. A nurse tends to the patient, helps with tests, and pretty much does most of the work when the doctor isn't around. Really, there's a huge difference between a nurse and a doctor. A doctor's job is to go over the information that the nurse has already taken, and to further find out symptoms to help diagnose or find the right prescription. In my opinion, the nurses work just as hard if not harder than the doctors themselves. Both of the jobs can be stressful due to the high frequency of people getting sick or hurt. I wish you the best, as it's a high demanding decently fast paced job. So in a nutshell, there's nothing wrong with being a male nurse .

Pay is almost never a good reason for a career choice. But I believe this is a joke and also I thought this thread was moved for a second >.>

Anywho, there is nothing wrong with that... I've known some legit male nurses and assistants and such. Do what you want, forget the rest. If I wanted to be a wolf... by God I'd find a way to be one. =p

 

I was going to study nursing, but i ended up choosing biomedical science, nursing would be a great career though, and I think you'd be an amazing one

 

I've seen male nurses at my local hospital so there's no problem with it although some ignorant people consider it to be gay. Don't listen to those who do.

 

It's never even crossed my mind that male nurses would ever be considered 'gay' for their career choice. A job is a job and there's nothing to say that a man can't flourish in a female-dominated environment. I've been seen by male nurses in the past and it really made no difference to me.

 

I was never worried about being a nurse, but it kinda bothers me how everybody's telling me that it's okay for a guy to be one like it's okay to be gay haha
