Who do we trust now?

I've been on this site for a long time...

And it's always been said 99% of the time when a user is scammed it's there fault for no going with propper procedures.

After tons of ex globals, globals, ex admins, highly trusted people scamming I'm not to sure WHO we can trust anymore.

List of trusted people who scammed.

I don't know who to trust anymore and I don't want to be labled with a TWC if I refuse to go first or use an omm.

 

Trust who you want, nobodies ever said you have to use an OMM or MM, you can still refuse it. If you feel unsafe about trading use sites like PA to hold the money during trade. I know several people who don't use OMMs in their trades and will refuse one even if the other person chooses to pay the fee.

coming from a newcomer's point of view which probably is irrelevant.. if you don't feel comfortable trading even with an OMM.. DONT DO IT.. I get queezy sometimes and don't do a lot of trades.. like for example I almost bought a partyhat but choked before sending the payment because I had doubts.. I mean if you're not comfortable.. don't do it.

At the end of the day, ANYONE can turn around and just scam a person. The best thing you can do is take every trading precaution you can, but ultimately they could still scam either way.

With people like that, it does happen, unfortunately. You just have to be careful, they may have a staff rank, or ex-staff rank, but they doesn't mean they're not a scammer. One hint is to look at donor amounts, it's normally unusual for a user to scam an amount under their donor amount.

It's up to you if you want to use an OMM or not, you won't get in trouble for that.

As for the TWC you're afraid of, I don't think people usually get them that easily these days. If you don't want to go first with an OMM or whatever, that's your choice. TWCs are only really given if it is felt that a user is generally a potential threat to the site.

At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide who you think is trustworthy or not.

EVERYONE listed on the thread none of us would have any problem going first to because frankly they were trust worthy.

 

That was in the past a lot has changed since then. If someone opposes an OMM there shouldn't be a reason to TWC and in most of those cases if it was applied it as because there were either scam reports which lacked proof for a ban, odd behaviour, or scam accusations. In most cases all 3 together, Also I see no point in making a list because there are still far more legitimate users over time than illegitimate users who have been banned. Also half those people you listed the current behaviour before scamming was fishy as hell.

Also I'm curious other than attempting to discredit currently "trusted" members what does this thread attempt to accomplish.

This thread isn't trying to accomplish anything other then to see what other people think in regards to this matter.
And I didn't discredit anyone in particular I discredited everyone as a whole including my self.

 

I'm not being an ass I'm just saying threads like this attempt to discredit ex-mods, current mods, high donors, and highly trusted members. Yes they were banned and had bad morals but bad morals are a lot harder to see than vouch count, post count, flashy UIs, and small ranks, the only thing close to a question I see is "who can you trust" and my answer is who you feel comfortable with and if you don't feel comfortable with them don't trade them or use sites which act as a middleman for you. You aren't going to get TWC'd over refusing to use a MM or OMM. All this thread is going to do is bring out potential negatives of trusting a sythe user who is trusted or not. Also if you did make this thread to not discredit anyone you wouldn't have gone the extra step to make a list of users, then add more because it seemed small and then link it in your signature to attract attention.

Oh wow.. right after I reported the account being hacked I saw it get temp banned =p.

Anywho, anyone can scam. People change. I wouldn't ever scam someone. But that's what I think... the highest I've MMed is $1.1k but I truly believe that no matter what the value, I won't scam. I'd be like... "Hey toss some over here" =p.

Two years of inactivity... is a lot of time to change.

 

It isn't even sure if it's Pen, hes account can be compromised.

Also we don't know the reason.

1)He has changed into a dickhead.
2)He needs the money, urgent.
3)He knew he could abuse his status here, and since Sythe didn't mean anything to him anyways, why not?

I really hope he has been hacked, and it wasn't Pen himself to do this.

 

No, I'm almost certain it was the real Pen. When I spoke to him he only knew things that the real Pen would know.
