it all depends who it is, personally i dont care what people think so i'll tell them yeah but when it comes to my girlfriend she still doesnt know

Everyone knows I play RuneScape lol.
No one cares...
I have like 4 friends who play RuneScape,
I even have a teacher who plays the game.
These other kids play Black Ops etc.
They know that I won't care if they make fun of me once in a long time
But they know, if they try to make fun of me daily, I'll fuck them over with my MMA skills xD.
(I'm very friendly, I only fight when there is no other option)
My MMA-level is 120.

I'm not too ashamed of playing RuneScape or being involved in Sythe.org (a large cyber community) but it is not something that I advertise amongst my friends either. When they ask what I've been doing in my free time on the computer or if I am gaming at all these days, I will tell them that I play RS and that I'm heavily involved in a black market community online. Most of them think the whole concept of RWT'ing and making money on RuneScape is pretty cool. Also, I am not much of a gamer at all - the only game I really play is RuneScape, whereas most of my friends are heavily involved in Xbox, Ps3, online games etc and spend way more time than I do gaming. So they really can't say shit.

The only ones who ever tease me about playing RS are some of my girlfriends, and they joke around and call me a nerd. But I don't take it too seriously because I know they are kidding and really they just want my body.

 

In the school I grew up in, you're not cool unless you play runescape... just like peeing your pants.

 

I dont tell my friends that i play it but if they play online games i ask if they play rs lol

 

I never mentioned anything to my friends, Except my really close friend in which he introduced me to Runescape.

 

Well, I'm in the army, there are a LOT of nerds in the army, but regardless, they hear Runescape, they laugh their asses off. I haven't played RS in like 3 years because my acct got banned, but I plan on getting back into it. Most of the people around me play WoW, and the rest of the people make fun of them. lol I could care less though, I do what I want.

 

All my friends know because they play it too we have fun pk with eachother do quests, etc.

 

i play openly during lect and all. Ppl around me know i play RS for money so its okay for me so far. But i should go out more with frens hahas

Its not really something i say openly but if people ask i'll tell them the truth

Here is some good advice. Dont run out into the streets and yell "I Play Runescape!" to everyone. you can tell like close friends who are into video games and stuff or just talk about it casually. I used to always find irl friends who played runescape and i never got made fun of when i used to play because the only people who knew also weren't just telling everyone that they play runescape. its pretty simple close friends you can just tell them what you do and if anyone asks you can just tell them you sometimes play in a really chill way. EASY!

 

Yeah, I don't give a shit honestly, it's a video game like any other video game.

 

I would never tell anyone apart from a couple expections for example someone telling me they played it and stuff.

My best mate kind of knows I play and stuff but he plays diablo so he dont judge.

If I did tell people though everyone would find out considering my school is a massive bitch-fest and NOTHING is kept secret.

I just couldn't deal with the judging not being big headed or as such i'm part of the popular tag and if something tiny happens you get picked on simple.

No, but you don't necessarily need to keep them hidden from eachother either. Trust me I don't walk around saying "I PLAY RUNESCAPE" but I treat it like any other video game and I'm cool with talking about it if it comes up. Also like someone else said most of my friends think that its pretty cool that I make money from just playing a video game.
