do you admit playing runescape?

Dont play as much as i used to but i generaly play modern warefare I & II or fifa, cod on xbl and fifa on ps3.

 

I always tell to me friends that I still play runescape because I'll earn money there. LOL so they always tells me that they are going to try it even though they don't like it that much they want to try it because they saw me that I really earned money in runescape.

 

I don't play runescape anymore, so I just tell them I don't. No one really knows at school except a couple friends and they'll joke about it once in a while.

Great question man, I'm probably going to go off on a few tangents but I'll describe my experiences to you all:

It's funny, because the first thing that is obvious about pretty much everything is that they are HYPOCRITES. For example, they will bash games like World of Warcraft or Runescape (having maybe even played both religiously before), and then play equally tailored games. The first game that comes to mind to me is Skyrim. As a result of Skyrim being a console game, it is less frowned upon automatically, for whatever reason.

I have played Runescape since 8th grade, around 2005. Though I don't play it that much anymore, it holds a nostalgic place in my heart and I still play it out of this nostalgia from time to time. I have always enjoyed things that people either love or hate. Runescape, Dragonball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, etc etc.

While my window of time enjoying those aforementioned things may be larger than most people, I don't feel the need to ingratiate myself with people by saying I like the same things they like. I honestly don't give a damn what people think about what I do. If they know me for me, chances are I make a favorable impression on them. If people judge you for hobbies, that is sad. There a tons of hobbies out there, card collecting, comic books, fishing, etc. etc. Diversified personalities is what makes living so GREAT.

Never feel ashamed for something you enjoy doing, granted it is healthy and preferably legal lol.

Another personal example is my enjoyment elicited from watching and playing Tennis. A lot of people in my family try to make fun of me for it, but do you think I care, LOL hell no man..hell no.

The people that talk trash about the hobbies + activities are the same people that either A: Do the same thing B: Are insecure about themselves C: Do even "dumber" things or D: All of the above.

 

I'd admit it if asked.. don't see the problem.. haters gonna hate I guess. What makes it any different than watching mindless TV for hours? Entertainment - that's what it comes down to. Spend your free time as you wish, whatever you enjoy.

 

i agree with that 100% and feel like people who hate on others have a secret of their own that is just as bad or even worse.. But I believe EVERYONE gets into the situation where it does matter what their gf does think of them even if it's about a game.. she sits down with me and kicks ass at CoD but every time she comes over my computer screen is shut off just so she don't think i'm a computer nerd which .. in all honesty i love my computer and was the best 3000 i have ever spent haha..

but her opinion means everything to me.. which is why i'm so eh on telling her if i ever am hah

 

I don't tell anyone. The only way people know that I play is that they find out by coming over to my house or someone I know telling em. It's not that bad tbh.

Conversations like this never come up in my friend group but I play many games and so do they so I don't see why runescape is any different. If I still played I would tell people I played but only if they asked.

 

I just kind of joke about it with my mates to be honest. Funny thing is a lot of popular kids at my high school play rofl.

 

I don't broadcast it, tbh I don't like to speak much about it but if I'm asked then obviously I tell em I do play RS, most of my mates have all played the game with me from about 12-16 yrs old, I'm probably one of the few that still plays it (I'm 19 now). I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of my mates logs in now and again seeing as they weren't bad at the game :/

 

I don't walk around with a shirt that says RuneScape lol. My step-brother (who is 32) and his best friend (who is 46) stopped playing because the game is too childish. I guess i just let my feelings get in the way of my hobbies.. my biggest fear is TELLING MY GIRLFRIEND haha.. we have been dating for almost 2 years now. she is 22, perfect but hates her little brothers game RuneScape that he plays.. and well sorry hunny i secretly do too :\

I do to some friends, i mean, they all play their black ops/mw3 while i play my runescape, same thing.

 

you would think so.. but when i did travel hockey i played RS at night before i went to bed while they played what was Halo 2 at the time.. they teased me for playing such a childish game.. because i knew so much about it and tried to explain it to them made me a "nerd" which i know i kinda am but don't want to admit to hah

I don't tell anyone other than the neighborhood friends I've had for like 8 years and since we all started together + they don't give a shit what any of us do they wouldn't be like "oh ha you're a faggot".

 

A lot of people are relating it to if someone asks which falls within the question but I'm kinda looking for a person with the same situation as me.. heh. I understand i mean i don't tell anyone unless they ask me. I have friends who play and what not but

i need advice about the woman friend who is looking towards her moving in with me soon haha
