Got Screwed

Okay so I'm just 15 years old and of course I have no credit card. I buy myself a prepaid Mastercard to buy RSGP. I find a legit seller within an hour of buying my card I get on to PA and try making a purchase. For some reason PA's payment system said it failed and the transaction never happened. So now the payment was reversed and the money is on my account. Problem? The money is being held by Mastercard. Player Auctions told me it will take me 1-3 days to get my money back, Paypal told me 3-4 days, Mastercard told me 7 days. The money is apparently on my account but I am not able to use it. Thoughts?

I'm just so frustrated if the payment failed why was it taken in the first place? Now I'm forced to wait 1-7 days for my refund which was never supposed to happen.

 

Just wait it out, perhaps next time stay away from PA and buy from another source.

Be patient, and if there is a help line you can call try that.

Also be very careful when you buy the GP.

 

The seller was fine 99% satisfaction and tons of vouches it's just the fact that their making me wait so long for money that shouldn't have been used is stupid.

 

This is not the sellers fault. Refunds take time to clear.

 

Failed payments need to be investigated by both parties for fraud. Its a protection put in place to keep peoples money in the right hands. PlayAuctions or any other site; as well as real life markets are at no exception.

 

So is my money safe?

 

the money is safe.. when you go to make a transaction it takes it out regardless if it went through or not.. so give it at least 7 business days to get your money back on the card..

Wait it out, then buy your gold from somewhere like gold4fun. Bought 15-30m off them yesterday and had no problems doing it

 

As an experience with prepaid cards and getting money back. I bought something then it turns out that it wasn't available off a clothing store's website and they sent the money back and paypal held it for over a month before I ever got it back, and it was only $9. So I wish you luck.

Edit:

Find someone from Sythe to buy from, R2P or Grave or someone. Don't buy off Chinese goldfarming sites because they over charge like crazy.

I hope they don't hold it for too long :/ I don't mind waiting as long as I essentially get a 100% refund.

 

Sounds like a technical problem not a runescape problem. Id say try calling do all that you can do. If not then just wate it out nothing you can really do at that point.

 

Same thing happened to me except I didn't get my money back...sorry to burst your bubble...good luck!
