simba is a color bot and doesnt have any dung scripts. rsbot is reflection and so is definitely more reliable. the community at simba is a lot better though

They are both good in their own way.
Java scripts have the potential to be much more powerful since they find objects easily by ID and can use tiles to walk etc.

Simba is a color bot so it can't do as complex of things as easily(dung) but it has many great stable scripts.

Simba and all of it's scripts are 100% open source and the community BY FAR is the most mature and helpful community around. They are all about teaching and learning and helping others. It's highly encouraged that users learn to script themselves and everyone helps you along the way!
Ive been using Simba/scar since 2005 and earlier and love everything about it/the community.

    Is simba safe to use?

I've heard that the bot detection is pretty high in it

Simba. It's open-source, from the client to the scripts, so you know what's running.

RSBot has taken a new approach and stayed closed source this time and also made it so you no longer deal with compiling scripts and simply use their repository.. Although it is nice, I don't exactly like that much, given the fact that they're now owned by gold4rs. I avoid running powerbot on any windows machines because of this.

In terms of just a bot, powerbot is an injection client after all, and can do things simba can't, and with other things do them a fair bit more effectively.

    In that way it's superior.

But Simba can also do thing's rsbot can't either. You can write your own scripts to bot on private servers whereas rsbot cannot do that as it is only for runescape. You can also use simba for pretty much anything outside of runescape also.

The SRL community makes the rsbot/powerbot community look like a joke. But it's more of an educational forum, full of scripts to learn from and many tutorials. Leechers are almost non-existent. Everyone contributes. The powerbot forum is more of a hell-hole.

That being said, if you want a bot that just works without too much thought, rsbot/powerbot.

If you're willing to learn and contribute to an amazing community/project while botting, simba.

Tbh, I'd run Simba over Powerbot anyday.

Powerbot has tendency to be known for bans, hence the "Powerban" nickname it's picked up.

Simba has a relatively low ban rate as far as Runescape bots go, and I'd say they are the safest free open-sourced botting community that there is.

    /sigh

Just because it has a dung script doesn't mean that automatically makes everything else on the site better..

Simba has a lower ban rate than almost any injection bot that I can think of. Color bots are notorious for being more difficult to detect.

simba is more reliable in the long run with the bot nuke and all. but powerbot scripts are all faster than simba scripts and often work smoother.

I will say however be careful with powerbot I recall them at one point stealing from their botters from time to time.

No not at all. Simba is an old color bot that has been around for a long long time. Most of the scripts are surprisingly good too.

If I'm not mistaken, Simba itself went public in 2009. SRL & Scar have been around since the RSC days, before Sythe.org even existed. You've not heard of Simba because the push-to-play Java bots receive the majority of the attention recently. Well, at least that's one reason...

Simba needs a lot of CPU power and PowerBot needs a lot of RAM.

Simba is a colorbot but PowerBot is injection bot, which means PowerBot will always be able to precisely get data but Simba will always try to match patterns.

Injection bots are more reliable, e.g. imagine having several waterskins in your inventory. They all look the same, colorbots won't be able to identify (well they can, but that would involve right clicking), however, injection bots would already know which waterskins are waterskins (2) or waterskins (4), etc. Nobody will ever develop a dungeoneering script for a colorbot because it is inefficient. Use the iDungeon from the PowerBot.

Jagex can break injection bots easily but they struggle breaking colorbots and usually fail. Updating injection bots take usually at least an hour, usually 6h+ but colorbots usually do not need to be updated.

Basically, while injection bot exists, there should be no need of a colorbot. If injection bot is destroyed, the best choice left would be a colorbot.

Years past someone named Gh0$t hacked into the Powerbot database, and infected the RSBot bot client with malicious software, and basically stole over 250,000 account's login info. Shortly after RSBuddy came out, they infected their client with malicious software that fucked with your hosts file so that you couldn't navigate to certain botting websites.

But that's about all as far as what they've done maliciously since I've been around in 08-09.

    TL;DR

That's why I refuse to enter my login details into the bot client. I'm more than happy with 6 hour sessions without having my login info having the possibility of being compromised.
