Help with my PKing situation?

First of all, apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Before I begin, here are a list of my stats that would be used in PKing:
48 Attack
45 Strength
51 Defence
44 Prayer
99 Ranged
80 Magic

I usually go out into the wild with full Royal D'hide (Excluding hood), Rune Full Helm, Rune Crossbow + 100 Dragon Bolts (e), Dark Bow + 10 Dragon Arrows, Rune Kiteshield, Ava's Accumalator, Snakeskin Boots, Amulet of Accuracy.
My bag consists of: 1 Varrock Teletab, 1 Ranging Potion (4), 2 Prayer Potions (4), 1 Super Defence Potion (4), 1 Super Anti-Poison (4), Either Dark Bow + Arrows or Rune Crossbow + Bolts + Rune Kiteshield, the rest Rocktails.

So here's my problem: It's like I have 70 ranged... I almost all the time hit low, I think the highest hit I've done in PK is a 306.. I get hit like a train, probably because of my low defence, but a lot of people I am fighting are 1 Defence. I've been hit for 500+ with Rune Crossbows and they are 99 Ranged also.
I almost always die because of things like AGS / DClaws, but even when they are using a Whip / Scimmy, I am still taking way to much damage to be able to even attack.
I use Eagle Eye + Protect Item prayers.
I can never deal enough damage for a high combo, If I get them to 1/4 and pull out a Dark Bow spec, it hits low, and I never really hit 250+ 250+ 250+, even when I am fighting lower level rangers, they are hitting me higher and more frequently.
I've tried Magic Bow PKing, Darts, you name it but nothing goes my way.

What could I do to actually put my 99 Range to use, before I just go use all my 3k charms and go PvM?

 

Pking atm is hard, rushers etc. Your defence is REALLY low try getting that to atleast 70-80 before even going into the wild, GL

 

um defense really means nothing for pures.. idk what you're trying to accomplish with this account. You can get 99 att 99 str 75 def 95 pray 99 mage then you'll be pretty set for PKing but i'm thinking by the time you get that done the new combat system will be out. It's hard to determine PKing right now... But if what i've told you helps you that's what i would do..

 

I just range really, I have a IRL friend who I lure with and we made about 6m in a day, I was hitting fine, even though I was only 89 range.
I just go in PK and range people, easy enough. I'm not trying to accomplish anything, I just want to know why the hell I hit so low compared to other people with the same or lower range?

 

Dude where we should know that? Your 99 Range, normally you have to hit high, but you cannot constantly hit high, it also depends what your opponent wear. (armour etc.)

oka, well here's what i think you should do. In order to get the best bonus for range you will need 75 defense at least...

Armour: Armadyl armour and Glaiven boots
Bonus: +78
Book: Unholy Book
Bonus: +8
Ring: Archers' ring (i)
Bonus: +8
Amulet: Amulet of ranging (better than any other amulet)
Bonus: +15
Weapon & Bolts: Rune crossbow & Dragon Bolts|Onyx Bolts

on a side note: Karil's armour may be used instead, and Ranger boots can be an alternative to Glaiven boots...

hope this helps out for the best bonus for range..

 

- Fit one of the treasure trail d'hide hoods. Blue was like 20-30k last time I checked.
- Fit a anti-dragonbreath shield! Thats a must against the dragon bolts!
- Amulet of accuracy.. swap to glory ammy. They are cheap nowadays.

About the claws rushing etc. I have a range tank with 85 defence and I still sometimes take way too much dmg from claws/dds. Thats just how it is.

Basically how I fight is, sometimes I am purely using dragonfire bolts for the awesome special or sometimes I get people low with dragonfire bolts and then spec with dark bow. Keep your protect from melee prayer ready at all times and when jumped, use it and start shooting the other guy!

If you want to be better, get higher defence and rigour. Not talking about getting 99's and whatever. Just get 70 defence and 74 prayer along with dungeoneering.

 

That's like a 35m risk+, I will be fighting people with a 50k risk.
I'd wear that for PvM but never for PvP :L

why would you lure someone with 50k risk?

 

if 35m is expensive for you when you complain about low hits. I only offered you the BEST bonus for range to get you the highest hits possible.. now if you don't want to do it then don't.

but 35m is exceptionally low seeing I can get a lure kill at 60-100m each lure usually...

 

I never said 35m was expensive.
Run out in a PK world, do you see other level 88 combat players risking 35m? If anything, they may risk claws but 99% of the time they tele after a rush or safe it down.
35M risk compared to others 50k-500k Risk is not worth it.

 

you're luring in the wrong place. Why would you ever waste time on a "50-500k" lure.. the whole point of a lure is loot... but i'm thinking you're luring rune sets in search of 100-200+ hits with range...

sorry but your luring is way different than mine. If the person sees you're risking more then he won't feel like it's one sided.. I would never fight against a guy with black d'hide if i'm wearing bando's.. (just giving you an idea).

in order to make some coins you have to spend some coins.. you can use karil's in replace to armadyl ..

 

If you actually read, I never said anything about Luring.
This is about PKing.

 

you mentioned you and your buddy luring 6m a day. sorry misunderstood.. even PKing. Wearing Armadyl and or Karil's isn't bad.. i risk 100m easy.. not comparing here but again I only gave you the best BONUS i could for range.. that's all you asked for. You never mentioned about price.

Because I said that I'm not going to risk 35M agaisnt 50k riskers?
You like to brag a lot about how you take high risks and get high lures, this thread is a purpose to get people opinions and what they would do.
Use some logic and don't conclude I will be fighting players risking 35m+ at level 88 combat.

 

combat means nothing with wealth.. my lvl 3 skiller has over 400m? i'm not bragging about anything. I'm only telling you that people look for PK's for the rewards.. i don't jump for joy knowing i'm getting black d'hide..

so don't blame me for giving a 35m advice when you choose to pk 50k rewards. I don't judge stupidity ..

so maybe spend some cash, get better defense, then i believe you will be satisfied..

 

I don't choose to PK 50k rewards.
Go to World 1, or any member High-Risk Wilderness worlds, look for the levels 83-93 and take a screenshot of any who risk over 5m.
Even if I ran out in 35m risk, that doesn't mean everyone else does. The bottom line is, todays PKing society doesn't risk anywhere near as much as before.
I mean, my levels, they don't even take out full rune, sometimes just a Dragon Scimmy and Monk Robes. You even see higher levels (110-138) wearing Rune and maybe a Rapier, but still, that's only like a 200k risk.
If you ran out in 100m risk, you'd get attacked by anyone, and them people, won't be risking anything more than 250k.
Most of the higher risk fights I see are on low populated worlds where there are no sad PJers.
