Cant' open up RS on our mac

Never really managed to figure this out, but then again I stopped playing rs a while ago. Maybe someone here can shine some light on the problem :huh:

It started happening about a year ago, that whenever I tried to open up any part of RS (home page, log-in page, anything really) I'd only get this message




Safar's suggestions weren't of much help; "check the address", "clear the cache and reset safari", both of which I did and got no results.




It's not really a big deal, but if anyone can help me out here I'd appreciate it very much

 

Thats the only website that it does it on?
Maybe if you haven't already try another internet browser

 

Yeah, that's the only website I've noticed that does that.

and meh, I don't really think it's worth going through the trouble of installing another browser just so I can open up rs.
If that's the only solution, then I'm not gonna bother with it. I was hoping this would be a quick fix

 

try d/ling the game client on their website or use swiftkit? I use a mac and Runescape has been working just fine for years.

 

Try updating your Java?

 

Update Java or just download the Mac OS client if your able

Either download the RS client, or update Java. Both of these options should work, if not, then I am not sure what could possibly be the problem. I run RS on a mac frequently, never had this problem. I do get that screen that you posted a bit with some websites, but i usually solve it by pressing "Command R" which obviously, refreshes the page. Hope I helped!

 

Are you definitely on the latest version of Safari? Tried reinstalling?

 

Installing another browser takes like 2 minutes.. That's a quick fix in my point of view.

Then i guess you also won't bother to

- reinstall safari
- check for mac OS updates
- update Java
- Download the official game client

 

Your mom and dad have a password set and you dont know it because they dont want you to play games on the mac. Thats why you wont download a java update or client or a browser. Lol busted.

 

I own a Mac and always had issues loading RS and playing properly through a browser.

I downloaded and installed Swiftkit from www.swiftkit.net and it works flawlessly for me. Better than any Windows computer that I've run RS on.

 

Have you tried to use internet explorer/Google Chrome?

 

Playing runescape on a mac, no matter what browser you use (safari, firefox, chrome etc.) is almost always faulty. You will most likely have to download a client like Swiftkit or the official runescape client. I forget the reasoning behind it but the problem has been asked on RS forums many times and they basically just say to download the official runescape client.

 

I've noticed lol. The game would get very slow, very quickly...

but like I said, I don't really play rs anymore, I was more or less just asking because I was hoping it would be a quick fix. But meh, I don't really want to download anything onto the mac (it's pretty messed up as it is)

How the hell do you mess up a mac OS . Seriously, you can't do anything wrong with downloading as long as you know what you're doing. But you won't learn what you're doing if you're afraid to try things out. Just read all the info you can find before doing anything, google stuff, watch youtube vids..

 

In all honesty, I've bought an iMac 27" Desktop around 3 weeks ago, I'm selling it again next week, its really not that great at all.

They're ridiculously overpriced.

I can't play without the Java page flashing black when I enter crowded areas, crashing from time to time, etc.
