some questions about powerbot/botting?

hello,

im completely new to botting, never done it before, I was wondering if powerbot has any viruses/trojans/keyloggers/rats etc, also a friend told me a while back, if your caught botting you are charged in real life money? im not sure if thats true or not, so if your caught botting do you only get banned and nothing else, and is it possible for jagex to IP ban you?

Powerbot has no viruses. You cannot be persecuted in real life or charged money for botting if caught. You only receive a ban (temporary sometimes). I believe it is possible for jagex to IP ban you but is very rare.

however with their latest update 4025 you can't use the bot unless you pay for their VIP service... (sucks i know)

im talking about the rsbot thing here, the button which says download on the homepage of http://www.powerbot.org/, it downloads something called "rsbot" or is that the same as powerbot?

 

RSBot and PowerBot are the same thing and I'm not sure of the paying for VIP now but if so, that's a pretty big problem. Will check it now and get back to this thread.

EDIT: Using Powerbot as we speak free, no VIP, and it seems to be working fine. I know for sure some of the scripts that were free such as the main soul wars scripts became VIP, but other than that, it should be working fine for everyone...

 

Vip is only for another tab (2 bots at once) and some select scripts. Theres more than enough free scripts there to get your account to high levels

i've been a member of there since 2009, its had its ups and downs but all in all its a good bot, easy to set up and use and runs well

dont worry about ip bans, i guess they only happen in extreme mass goldfarming cases where people are running 100s of bots, for lowly people like us we dont have that worry

Yeah it definitely has a lot of f2p scripts. There is a script for if not every, almost every skill, and a lot of good AIO fighters

powerbot is a safe client. And no you won't get in real trouble when your acc get banned for botting
there are a few good f2p and a few good p2p scripts

is it safe for them to run overnight? what if a random hits? because idk if I should run overnight or not? thanks!

 

I wouldn't recommend overnight. The only random that I'm sure hasn't been scripted in is the maze random. If that one hits, it is all over for your bot. So I would recommend botting only when you have the ability to look over it.
