Pendants of Skill

Here is the latest post on the new items being placed into the squeal of fortune from runescape's homepage, what do you think of it?

From my point of view I see it as they are just giving out free xp left, right and centre in order to keep the players staying on runescape rather than quitting the game. Although I like this free xp I see it as them being desperate and trying to sell spins as much as possible, quit saddening.

 

In the end, its basically $$$ = XP. You buy spins and win XP. It's cleverly designed though.

 

Stupid imo.
Who the hell wants a pendent that does the exact same thing as a large xp lamp with MORE work involved to get it?

 

I would rather them have these pendants than lamps.. at least now people who buy tons of spins have to work on the skills to get the XP. This is an improvement in my opinion for the Squeal-experience model. ^_^

 

Free xp is still free xp tho, an it's better than getting 1k coins or something

It's obvious that they will not stop doing stuff like this, so at least have the person actually train the skill involved rather than just be given the exp. It's like the Mad May Necklace, but on a smaller scale; that was welcome.

Just logged onto 3 of the characters im currently using and of the 2 daily spins given, each one got atleast one pendant lol.

 

Spun the SOF on one of my accounts and saw the dungeoneering pendant. Ended up getting a huge lamp instead. Got ~60k slayer xp in 5 minutes (did penguins prior to spinning sof).

 

That's how many, including myself, perceive it to be however at the end of the day, every player in RuneScape are entitled to free spin(s), so why not use them haha.

OT: Awesome, and I still have my Mad necklace to use too.

 

Just got a crafting one, not planning on ever buying any spins or so though.

 

Got one for dungeoneering yesterday, so that was kind of nice seeing as I'm non-stop botting with idungeon.

 

Did you get double tokens or just experience?

Just another way of Jagex selling XP, which is so frustrating, it's possible now that being rich IRL means your character can be high level too, fail.

 

Ah fuck. Now buying spins might be remotely worth it, but i'd still rather buy rsgp.

I got the crafting pendant,it gave me 780xp per d hide body loll

 

Don't see the point in complaining about free experience. I'm glad they did this. Makes my life botting easier.

Anywho, they need to rework construction as a whole, the skill itself is trash. Way off topic, but just a little rant.

 

Free spinds, sure. Its just another method of gaining XP. It has a nice hard-cap of one or two spins per day preventing anyone from abusing it. Buying extra spins is a whole different matter though... But I'm pretty sure Jagex makes extreme amounts of $ with it.

Saw somewhere when LOTRO or some other game turned F2P with cash-shop and it started to generate many times more $ then just from regular subscriptions.

Greedy corporations don't care about player experience.
