Recovering Accounts now a days

    So I know that accounts can only be recovered instantly via with a registered email, but I know that you can some how recover by emailing JaGeX. Does anybody know what the email is and what you say?

    If it's regarding recovery I think you can still try, but it will take up to two weeks to get an answer and that answer might be no, or they will tell you to answer a query and that might take another two weeks to answer.

    It's worth a shot though.

    They're going to check how many times you tried to recover the account through the Recovery Gateway, they can see the log and details of the process and attempts made.

    I would suggest giving them the same answers if you know you have done that and see what happens. I wouldn't recommend posting things to say or asking such questions on a public forum such as this one because it may help them stop these kinds of actions.

    They will lock your account and next time you try to recover your account you will be taken to the old page where you enter info, Transaction details, etc

    Ye cause a person asking a question is going to lead to jagex getting rid of account recovery.

    Thanks, i'll try this.

    Also, to all the people who just for some reason don't understand what's going on..

    JaGeX (a good while ago) changed their account recovery system.. Now a days, you can only recover instantly via sending directly to the email.. If you don't have your email registered to the account, you can't recover the account.. The way around this is to send an email to JaGeX and telling them you're account has been hacked and they'll send you a standard recovery form.

    So for all of the people who are judging/giving advice that has nothing to do with the subject at hand, you now know.

    Not necessarily, MMORPG companies are known to patch bugs and try to circumvent flaws in their security, a simple statement like that wouldn't do anything, but an elaborate known way is sure to raise suspicion if it is posted in a black-hat forum for cheating that MMORPG and it's staff.

    Just an update.. I've emailed JaGeX 2 days ago (little more really) and yet to get a response~

    I'd imagine the recovery system will now take longer than usual, people were abusing the old system and therefore I think Jagex have now actually decided to have human beings deal with the reports now.

    You'll probably be waiting a good few more days unfortunately.

    After the Chessy incident, they made the right call, but I guess it took them too long to implement it. So yeah, it was abused.

    lol i send them email 1month ago and no respond ...i even posted in forums and NOTHING i hate this new recovery system

    Punker, E-Mail [email protected]

    Tell them your son loves the game and recently got hacked, tell them he is very upset as the game makes him happy.
    Tell them that your son told you that a while back it was able to recover the account with the account information and that he has all this information.

    They E-Mail you back that they've investigated the account and they have confirmed they're is a third party involved.
    They will lock the account and send you a link to a manual recovery form (the old form where you need to fill in the account information).

    Do that and you'll get your account back.

    I did this two times, one time for myself and one time for a friend, both times I got a response within a day, even a couple of hours.
